What you will do:

We are seeking for a Junior BDM / Associate is responsible for supporting Sales Director generating new business globally and for initiating and managing business development initiatives with clients. Clients are International Corporates based in France/Europe.

Reporting to Head of Sales GTS, role is comprised of managing existing client lines, liaison with Coverage bankers, ensuring smooth operation of day to day transactions, credit renewals and proposals, new client origination (development of own portfolio), market risk analysis and ad hoc reporting. In addition, interaction with Global Finance Risk Distribution in terms of distribution of assets to optimise both credit capacity and RoRWAs.

In this role you will:

  • Drive revenue from new and existing clients and manage attrition.
  • Manage return of the portfolio and looking to mitigants to improve return (distribution).
  • Constantly evaluate - Customer banking practices and trends in the market, GTS systems and techniques employed and the competitive marketplace.
  • Develop effective strategies for maintaining and growing client portfolio in order to maintain and generate new income for the Group. This will involve initiatives such as sector planning and client/contact monitoring to enure efforts support GTS business objective.
  • Where appropriate undertake professional presentations etc. to customers in support of potential opportunities portraying HSBC in the best possible light against a backdrop of competition from local, regional and/or global banks.
  • Work closely with colleagues to promote awareness of GTS products, strategies and competitor information amongst the RM and other strategic business communities.
  • Maintain awareness of the applicable regulatory and business environment: understand audit, tax and legal implications and changes as they affect he customers and the Bank.
  • Participating in events, initiatives and activities to develop business opportunities.


Conditions

You should apply if you have:
  • Knowledge of the Commercial Banking market both locally and globally including the competitive landscape, with a detailed knowledge of competitor propositions.
  • Good understanding of the international business trade cycle and the business processes involved when importing and exporting.
  • Good knowledge of GTS services, products and techniques.
  • Good understanding of Structured Trade, ESG linked facilities.
  • Good knowledge of the market and market trends, competitive environment and regulatory environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of Financial Crime Risk and Credit Risk including techniques to mitigate risk.
  • Knowledge of Commercial banking’s international proposition and product capabilities.
