In the Engineering Team, Senior ML Engineers solve real-world problems with cutting-edge AI. Solutions developed by Research/ML Engineers typically involve advanced Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning or a mix of these technologies with a focus on Operational Research.

ML Engineers' responsibility is to understand the business problems, identify and develop the right AI or cognitive computing technologies to solve them, and take part in the commercial deployment of their solutions. ML Engineers are integral in every stage of the project lifecycle. Successful ML Engineers provide technical expertise and scope projects during pre-sales, drive research and development for Proof of Concepts (POC), develop Minimum Viable Products (MVPs), and ensure continuous improvement and maintenance for industrialized solutions.

Tasks the ML Engineer is responsible for include: developing prototype applications, providing software design and programming support, implementing software libraries, supporting the business development, managing projects and project teams.

As Team Lead, one of your responsibilities will be to handle the human side of Machine Learning product/solution development by providing coaching and mentoring to a team of engineers. 

In this role, at InstaDeep you will report to a Senior Team Lead from the Engineering department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop & Optimize ML Algorithms: Design and implement scalable ML and neural network solutions, ensuring efficiency in modern high-performance computing environments.
  • Production-Grade AI Solutions: Lead the integration of research into deployable AI products, including POCs, MVPs, and AI-powered platforms.
  • Strategic Communication & Business Impact: Present AI/ML advancements to executives, clients, and internal teams; support pre-sales efforts as well as industry and partner engagements.
  • Leadership & Talent Development: Recruit, mentor, and guide AI/ML professionals while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Project & Client Success Management: Oversee AI solution delivery, align with client expectations, and provide strategic updates to internal and external stakeholders.

    • Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience, with at least 2+ years in a senior capacity, including experience leading and managing technical teams.
  • Proven expertise in AI/ML, with a track record of architecting and deploying large-scale, production-ready AI solutions, particularly in computer vision.
  • Deep technical proficiency in machine learning, deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX), state-of-the-art models and architectures, as well as high-performance computing environments.
  • Exceptional leadership and strategic vision, with experience guiding AI/ML teams and shaping technical roadmaps.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills that can influence executive decisions and drive AI adoption.
  • Experience collaborating with business development teams to position AI solutions as strategic differentiators.

    • Desired Skills:

  • Experience leading diverse, international teams with mixed technical backgrounds.
  • Track record in applying AI for biotech, drug discovery, histology, or genomics-focused problems.
  • Experience implementing or designing ML pipelines, CI/CD for ML, and model monitoring in production.
  • Knowledge of GCP, AWS, or on-premise deployment technologies.
