What’s the job? About the role As part of the Data and Integration Engineering domain, this role sits within the Integration Platform Services. You will act as a people manager, responsible not only for the delivery and maintenance of key integration platform capabilities, but also for fostering a high-performing, motivated, and collaborative team environment. This includes setting clear goals, supporting professional growth, and ensuring team alignment with strategic objectives. Additionally, you will drive governance and best practices across all solutions deployed on the platform, playing a pivotal role in maintaining its stability, scalability, and value to the organization.
Responsibilities - Take full ownership of the delivery output of the Integration Engineering squad, ensuring high-quality and timely results.
- Oversee governance of all solutions deployed on the Integration Platform, maintaining compliance with standards and best practices.
- Monitor platform performance, define success metrics, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Act as a key contributor to the internal Knowledge Base, ensuring platform documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and of high quality.
- Provide line management for squad members, offering coaching, feedback, and support for individual career development and progression.
- Manage the financial aspects of the platform and squad, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization.
- Maintain responsibility for platform and associated tool licensing, ensuring compliance and effective usage.
- Report on squad and platform delivery progress to the Engineering Manager in a clear and structured manner.
- Collaborate on technical direction and improvements within the broader Data and Integration Engineering Chapter.
What you’ll bring Skills and Experience - Proven experience in leading and line-managing high-performing engineering teams, with a focus on motivation, development, and coaching
- Strong ability to build and nurture a collaborative team culture focused on ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Skilled in setting clear goals and aligning team delivery with business and technical strategy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence both senior stakeholders and technical specialists
- Experience in driving team performance through regular feedback, 1:1s, and career development planning
- Solid understanding of event-driven and API-based architecture
- Knowledge of Confluent data streaming platform, GraphQL and Tyk API Gateway Management or similar
- Familiarity with integration design principles, platform governance, and modern integration patterns
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
