ACTIVES RAW MATERIALS CATEGORY BUYER

As part of the global Actives category team, you are responsible for driving a challenging portfolio in a very fast-growing environment in transformation.

Active Ingredient portfolio has been growing over the years to reach a 350-380M€ spend. This category is at the heart of innovation and products claims and characterized by a strong premiumization, on a dynamic supplier market.

Facing multiple challenges, among them securitization and sustainability, on top of more standard economic performance, you have to animate an extensive pool of suppliers from major corporations to local companies while reinforcing SRM to leverage partnership.

You are responsible for the definition, coordination, and implementation of the worldwide strategies on the scope/segment that you are responsible for, in cooperation with a broad diversity of internal stakeholders.

The Global Category Buyer is responsible worldwide for his/her portfolio:

Category management

  • As part of the global Actives category team, contribute to the category strategy and its roadmap in coordination with various stakeholders that you will have to align (Business Team/Sustainability Team/R&I/Zones)
  • As category senior buyer, collaborate with all category buyers in the zones dedicated to the category (Europe, North Asia, South east Asia, North America, LATAM)
  • Develop a thorough market knowledge and good understanding of the internal needs, and how the category can answer to it
  • Anticipate mid-term/long-term evolutions related to Regulatory and Consumer shifts
  • Share global market knowledge and intelligence with zones and internal stakeholders
  • Develop a strong relationship with internal stakeholders to anticipate evolutions on your portfolio

Risk Management - for your scope
  • Comply with L’OREAL risk management policy toward most impactful raw materials (multi country securitization) and implement BCP or diversification for your dedicated scope
  • Carry out Risk assessment rating for the suppliers you are in charge of, and implement any necessary action plan to securize them
  • Carry out Risk supply assessment for all raw materials of your dedicated scope to monitor Anticipation RM process.

Economic Performance
  • Build year N+1 purchasing action plan and lead the budget for your dedicated scope
  • Manage worldwide bids and negotiations for your dedicated suppliers in compliancy with internal control guidelines (100% use of MySourcing) and build negotiation reports to consolidate your negotiation results
  • Implement budget actions and follow-up its implementation along the year N (trend)
  • Report the economic performance in L’OREAL reporting tools

Supplier Relationship Management - SRM
  • As KSM (Key Supplier Manager), manage key dedicated suppliers and be accountable for the supplier relationship management
  • Lead annual business reviews and follow-up continuous improvement plan
  • With the support of the Category Manager & Director, implement long-term contract and strategic deals

CSR Management
  • Contribute to Greenification roadmap and lead Sustainable transformation of your dedicated portfolio, in accordance with the Group strategy to reach 2030 targets (L’OREAL for the Future Policy)
  • Follow-up the Sustainable Field projects of the category, and update their contractual frame , together with the Sustainability Team
  • Contribute to master sustainability ambitions and stakes for the category
  • Challenge and monitor suppliers regarding CSR capabilities


KEY SKILLS FOR THE JOB:

Minimum 5 years in purchasing mandatory with strong experience in negotiation

Technical background wished (eg. chemical / agronomic)

Management of complexiity

Experienced with sourcing tools and data management

Worldwide management - English is a must
