Position Summary: This position is responsible for providing technical expertise, strategic vision, and engineering leadership to the organization. The role includes managing staff and team members within the engineering department, and working closely with all leaders in the organization to drive engineering projects and technical innovation in line with the organization’s goals and objectives. Additionally, this position oversees cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives, ensures organizational adherence to policies, procedures, regulations, and standard work, and manages the department budget.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and provide technical expertise to drive complex engineering projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategic goals.
• Serve as the technical authority within the organization, offering guidance on advanced engineering methodologies, emerging technologies, and best practices to enhance performance, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Develop and champion innovative technical solutions that add value to the organization by addressing critical challenges and capturing new opportunities for growth.
• Provide engineering leadership by designing and implementing robust engineering processes that foster continuous improvement, operational excellence, and scalability across the organization.
• Directly manage all employees in the Engineering Department, including hiring, work planning and direction, training, and performance management. Set department priorities to maximize the utilization of engineering resources.
• Actively engaged in supporting the quoting process by reviewing proposed manufacturing strategies, providing input and challenging assumptions.
• Provide technical leadership through cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment on project scope, resource allocation, and technical deliverables to achieve targeted objectives.
• Lead NPI (New Product Introduction) engineering organization to ensure accurate costing, timely project execution, and successful product launches that meet or exceed business expectations.
• Collaborate with all cross-functional leaders within the business to ensure adequate engineering support and technical alignment with the organization’s goals and objectives.
• Oversee cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives for Engineering, ensuring Lean principles and advanced problem-solving methodologies are implemented effectively.
• Act as a mentor and thought leader, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and professional development within the Engineering team.
• Monitor and confirm organizational adherence to policies, procedures, regulations, and standard work while proactively identifying opportunities to improve compliance processes.
• Develop and manage the Engineering Department budget for the organization, collaborating with the Operations team to create a cohesive and strategic capital equipment budget.
• Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, recommending and leading the integration of methods, equipment, tools and systems to enhance the business's competitive edge.
• Communicate complex technical concepts and solutions to stakeholders at all levels of the organization, ensuring clarity and alignment with business strategies.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related engineering field (equivalent experience in lieu of a degree will be considered).
• Minimum of five years of relevant, progressive experience, including supervising a staff and managing a department.
• Strong technical knowledge of medical device, precision machining processes, applications, and technologies.
• Experience in contract manufacturing.
• Broad understanding of engineering principles, technical methodologies, and advanced manufacturing processes.
• Proven ability to lead significant business change and drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and other technical problem-solving frameworks.
• Demonstrated effective leadership skills, including the interpersonal and communication skills necessary to lead technical teams and achieve results through others.
• Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment with the ability to utilize technical software and tools effectively.
• Hands-on experience with CAD/CAM systems utilizing solid modeling for design and process development.
• Experience working within and maintaining compliance in an ISO 13485-regulated environment.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to align technical initiatives with organizational goals and objectives.
• Demonstrated technical innovation and value creation through engineering leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Professional Engineering designation.
• MBA.
Quantitative Data:
• Directly supervise a staff.
• 15 – 25 employees in the department.

• Identify and deal with HSE risk situations during the appropriate PSM
• Manage emergency situations with the help of the fist aiders and first response team members
• Relay and lead HSE communication within his/her teams
• Ensure that the necessary resources are available to guarantee the preservation of the health and safety of the people in his/her department
• Ensure that the necessary resources are made available to guarantee the limitation of the environmental impact of his/her department
• Within his/her scope, implement actions to achieve the site's HSE objectives
• Participate to the HSE management review
Compensation and Benefits Overview
Pay Range for this position is $110,000- $160,000 annually. This position is eligible to participate in the company’s bonus program.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with applicable county or city regulations if they exceed the listed range. Actual pay rates are determined based on various factors, including but not limited to, local labor market conditions, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language proficiency, and other job-specific qualifications.
