PLANNING SUPERVISOR-HC41810 DPT PURCHASING
SUMMARY:

LISI Aerospace, Hi-Shear Corporation manufacturer of Aerospace Fasteners, in Torrance California, has a great opportunity for a Planning Supervisor to perform functions in planning, scheduling, and coordinating of products through the complete production cycle.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodation for disabilities may be made for one or more of the following:

• In Charge of the planning strategy for the facility, and more generally the Master Production Planning (MPS) Process, to optimize our delivery performance and our inventory management.

• Supervise the planning team (Master Planners and Planners) to ensure the management and the standardization of the planning practices on the shopfloor.

• Support the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) in conjunction with the Supply Chain Director and the Operation Managers

• Interface with Sales for maintenance of forecasts and reorder point data for key products.

• Develop production plan based on demand requirements and from actual sales orders, forecasts and reorder points.

• Perform trend analysis by product, customer account and from market study data.

• Coordinate and execute the production schedule with manufacturing, customer service and shipping operations.

• Act as manufacturing liaison to Sales/Customer Service for any deviations from original production plan.

• Schedule and support initial build and ramp-up of new product releases.

• Coordinates with other departments to provide a workable production schedule and assist in correcting work center load imbalances.

• Requires extensive knowledge in manufacturing planning and master scheduling in an MRP environment. Knowledge of manufacturing operations and processes.

• Strong Ability to analyze and develop trend data from shipping and sales reports.

• Able to communicate in a professional manner with all levels of employees.

• Must be able to acquire rapidly a sound working knowledge of Lisi Aerospace Hi-Shear’s systems and procedures related to production control, manufacturing, purchasing and data processing.

• Maintain the Master Production schedule, Produces plan by calculating requirements, facility capacity, materials availability, and due dates.

• Adheres and implements all company HSE policies, procedures, and practices.

• All employees are responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.

• All employees are required to bring any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately.

• Implements and suggests waste elimination initiatives specifically related to the function and department such as recycling opportunities and elimination of paper waste.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education and/or Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management (Preferably Master Degree in SC Management) with 5 to 10 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  2. Demonstrated experience in people management.
  3. APICS CPIM prefered

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic mainframe computer systems and familiar with Spreadsheet and Word Processing software; Database systems

Mathematical Skills
Ability to perform basic mathematical functions, (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) Ability to perform these operations using units and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
