SUMMARY
Primary responsibility of a Quality Engineer is to ensure standards are established, achieved and maintained to meet the requirements for the Company’s products and processes. This will include: working in cross-functional teams and with suppliers to determine process and product capabilities, establishing control and inspection plans, supplier and internal audits, and generating detailed reports and documentation related to quality output including issuance, investigation, review, and closure of corrective actions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs internal and supports supplier audits in accordance with published schedules and procedures or specifications.
• Review and follow-up on corrective action submittals and closes acceptable corrective actions upon final approval, escalates to management as necessary any questionable corrective actions.
• Review engineering drawings for accuracy following QA procedures.
• Initiate and/or revise Quality Assurance manual, procedures, and work instructions as directed by the Director of Quality Assurance.
• Update and mail supplier quality and delivery rating reports, as required.
• Advise the Director of Quality Assurance of any possible quality concerns/ incidents as required.
• Perform AS9100 awareness training and implements processes as assigned by Management.
• Assist in on-site audits from customers and / or regulatory bodies.
• Responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements, and safe operating procedures at all times.
• Required to bring any known or suspected nonconformances for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately.
• Continually seek opportunities to improve our HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline and minimum 1 year directly related experience required and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Working knowledge of special processes, manufacturing methods, metallurgy, design and documentation
• Preferred CQE and/or CQA certified
• Strong drafting skills, excellent problem solving skills and ability to work within a team. Lean Six Sigma preferred
• Aerospace manufacturing experience highly desired.
• Working knowledge of relevant engineering application.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, and sampling theory.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic mainframe computer systems knowledge and be familiar with Spreadsheet and Word Processing software.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
