The position

Job description

ORIS is seeking a Civil Engineer Project Manager to support the consulting team. This position could be based in Lyon, France or Berlin, Germany.

Your role will be :

  • Client Management:

    • Being the “project referent”  in front of the client (e.g. Project Team Leads), organizing project monitoring meetings and planning the execution schedule, carrying out weekly project monitoring

    • Visit sites and clients to study the field of projects

    • Train users / key users

    • Identify potential futur projects

  • Project Management and Delivery:

    • Execute projects on behalf of clients and operated ORIS software

    • Coordinate the correct internal implementation of data, design catalogs, technical options retained, materials, etc.

    • External coordination of services, experts or consultants necessary for the execution of projects

    • Ensure that all the needs, means and necessary resources are available for the projects

    • Collect data from external stakeholders

    • Operate with the assumptions and conditions retained in the system, derive the expected deliverables (structure comparison dashboards, life cycle calculation, carbon emissions, etc.) and report them to customers for a clear report

    • Carry out prospective simulations for ORIS prospects and assist internal teams in the use of tools

    • Delivery

      • Align Deliveries with client expectations

      • Report creation and implementation with ORIS results

      • Coordinate teams and possible external stakeholders to insert additional parts (climate change, LCA specifics, …)

  • Product Development Support:

  • Identify unmet needs and additional opportunities as potential new features / specifications to be added in the platform

  • Share your special expertise to further enhance the ORIS platform

  • Business development support:

    • Conduct platform and feature demonstrations

Special Expertise specific activities:

  • Own specific expertise topic (e.g. Sustainable pavement designs)

  • Act as the referent across every team regarding your expertises domain

  • Bring your expert feedback on product discovery and requirement

  • Support data development on specific area

  • Eventually develop specific python module to support backend module


Preferred experience

  • Master’s degree in civil infrastructure or equivalent relevant engineering courses, sustainable development, environmental science with focus on development and/or sustainability, and/or related fields 

  • Total 10 years professional experience in linear infrastructure, with a predominance in rail a taste for road construction, including 5 years of experience with client direct relationship and project management 

  • Preferably with work experience on projects financed by public authorities ( Deutsche Bahn, Autobahn GmbH…)

Must have a proven experience in :

  • Rail Infra engineering projects experience

  • Sustainable solution for construction, 

  • Past experience in consulting company or in early stages project management (feasibility, early design, prebid phase) 

  • Redaction  / synthesis skills

  • German professional speaking and writting skills, from Native to C1

  • English professional speaking and writting skills, from Native to B2

  • Client management

Would be a ++ if 

  • Experience on circular economy, life cycle assessment

  • Experience in road construction above the rail experience
