The Tech Team at Partoo
At Partoo, we have a Tech team consisting of 80 people. We are organized into Tribes and Impact Teams, currently comprising 4 Tribes and 10 Impact Teams. Each Tribe is led by an Engineering Manager and a Lead Product Manager. Each Tribe focuses on a specific aspect or area of the Partoo product (Visibility, Interactions, Empowering and Core).
The Empowering Tribe’s aim is to make our internal teams more efficient. They accomplish this with two focus: onboarding & tools. Onboarding, we help users get autonomously onboarded onto the Partoo product. And we build tools to increase efficiency and remove redundant tasks of our Customer facing teams, so they can focus on high value tasks.
The Impact Teams specialise in a particular product or part of a product. They are cross-functional teams composed of designers, product managers, developers, and QA engineers, with the goal of developing and deploying new features in an agile and continuous manner. They are autonomous and can act on the entire stack to drive its evolution. To achieve this, they work in SCRUM with two-week sprints. Our philosophy is that the methodology serves the team, not the other way around.

The Engineering Manager position at Partoo consists of three pillars: management, vision, and technical.
Management 🧑🏫
You will be the manager of all developers in the Impact Teams of your Tribe. You will be responsible for their well-being at work, their professional development, managing salaries, promotions (with the assistance of the CTO and an HRBP), and time off.
You will also assist in the recruitment of new team members, whether it's to complement existing Impact Teams or create a new one, based on the needs.
You will foster the team's spirit, collaborating with the Product Lead as your partner, by organizing team-building activities, promoting collaboration and mutual assistance, and advocating for Partoo's values, among other things.
Vision 🧑🚀
We are looking for someone who understands the role of their Tribe within Partoo and the broader business ecosystem in which Partoo operates. You will need to understand the connections with other Tribes at Partoo, anticipate dependencies, create product and technical synergies, and facilitate communication.
To fully grasp the needs of other teams at Partoo (customer care, success, key account sales, SMBs, etc.), you will be the person who actively seeks contact with others.
Lastly, you will develop the long-term vision and roadmap for your Tribe. This means going beyond day-to-day management and proactively envisioning the future of your Tribe from both technical and product perspectives.
In essence, you will "see the big picture" 😀 🖼️
To develop this vision, you will work in tandem with your Lead Product Manager, who manages the Tribe from a product aspect. During the interview process, you will meet this person because it is crucial for a good rapport between you.
Technical 🧑🔧
You will be responsible for the technical excellence of your Tribe (or, in other words, "making sure things work well" 😁) as well as the progress of the Impact Teams.
This entails supporting the Lead Developers in your Tribe in making technical choices within the scope of their development projects. Your role is to provide guidance; the Lead Devs will be responsible for proposing a technical strategy that you will validate or challenge.
For this mission, you will be supported by the "Core" team, a group of technical experts who assist Tribes in building robust and clean architectures. You can rely on the Core team to challenge technical strategies.
You will also be responsible for tracking development progress, ensuring there are no unjustified delays, focusing on the essentials, keeping the schedules up to date, and communicating with the CTO and CPO in case of any issues.
