Why This Role Matters

In order to continue our trajectory of rapid growth and ensure the efficient organization of Pennylane, we are seeking an exceptional Chief of Staff. This individual will play a crucial role in providing leverage to the ExCo and facilitating strategic initiatives across the company. Their leadership will be pivotal in orchestrating cross-departmental collaboration, optimizing processes, and implementing structural improvements that enhance our capabilities to innovate and scale effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Performance Monitoring

- Partner with the ExCo in defining, communicating and executing company strategy and priorities

- Facilitate quarterly business reviews and strategic planning sessions (i.e. organize strategy workshops, LT offsites)

- Own the entire OKR-process (defining/reviewing the OKRs, tracking them during the meetings with the extended leadership team, challenging our key performance indicators, making sure they align well with team level OKRs or equivalent prioritization frameworks)

Executive Operations

- Prepare briefing materials for board meetings, All Hands, and executive presentations

- Coordinate and lead executive team meetings, ensuring follow-through on key decisions

- Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the CEO and ExCo

Cross-functional Leadership

- Drive alignment across departments and break down organizational silos

- Identify operational inefficiencies and implement solutions

- Lead strategic projects and initiatives across multiple departments

Organizational Effectiveness

- Design and implement processes to improve company-wide communication and collaboration

- Support organizational design and scaling initiatives

- Facilitate conflict resolution and problem-solving across teams

Qualifications

- 8+ years of professional experience, with at least 3 years in operational or strategic roles

- Proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives

- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

- Experience in fast-growing technology companies

- Fluency in English and French

If you are based in France, you will have a French contract following French regulation on top of the additional perks : 6 to 12 RTT, 5 weeks PTOs, lunch credits (Swile), Alan Blue healthcare cover and regular events in cities where Pennylaners are mostly presents (Lyon, Bordeaux, Nantes…)

We're working on providing those last advantages to our people based outside of France as well, but it can be quite more complex depending on different countries.
