Job description

Within a commercial team of 25 people worldwide, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for the B2B sales development of Southeast Asia.

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated candidate with a strong background in the travel industry and preferably experience in the rail sector. The results-oriented individual will partner with premium retail travel agencies, tour operators, and OTAs to develop and grow the portfolio.

The primary role of this position is to formulate business development plans, budgets, and strategies to achieve sales targets, boost local sales, consolidate sales networks, develop new business opportunities, establish strategic partnerships, and create and implement a yearly marketing plan for the region.

  • Develop new Key Accounts (KA), establish new strategic partnerships, and cooperate with travel trade partners (tourism offices, airlines, hotels, retail partners, and travel agencies).

  • Enhance relationships with current KAs, travel agencies, and travel trade partners.

  • Identify the needs of local Key Accounts and travel agencies through sales visits, product trainings, and face-to-face communication on a regular basis.

  • Joint management of commercial contracts, preferred partner relationships, and associated incentive agreements.

  • Provide timely support and handle enquiries and requests (products, operation/technical, accounting, and group bookings, etc.) of local KAs and travel agencies with headquarters.

  • Responsibility for sales monitoring, including week-to-month-to-quarter analysis, identifying business opportunities and challenges. Includes competitor analysis, market trends & intelligence.

  • Ensure sales efficiency of the portfolio: plan visits to optimize and minimize travel budgets, focus on the right priorities, and use of sales force as per company guidelines.

  • Prepare, monitor, and maximize sales incentives/marketing plans, budgets, and campaigns (online/offline) with local KAs. Prepare marketing proposals and reports.

  • Organize and participate in sales calls, roadshows, trainings, workshops, and FAM trips to Europe.

  • Work closely with the marketing team for the production and distribution of newsletters, sales and marketing materials, product catalogues, brochures, and press releases.

  • Perform business trips with frequent travel through the region.

  • Perform other occasional duties as assigned.

Preferred experience

  • 🎓 Bachelor’s degree or above in tourism or related disciplines, with a minimum of 3 years’ working experience in related industries.

  • 🌍 Excellent command of spoken and written English, and native proficiency in Thai.

  • 💻 High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Skills in social media tools, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop are an advantage.

  • 🤝 Team player with good interpersonal, communication, presentation, time, and project management skills.

  • 📊 Strong analytical skills, business savvy, and the ability to multitask are all essential.

  • 💡 Mature, self-confident, responsible, cooperative, initiative, and independent with a high level of self-motivation and innovative thinking.
