To strengthen our ability to develop the functionality that our users expect, we’re looking for a Software Engineer (Ruby Developer) to support our team and offer solutions and offer solutions and a fresh point of view.
Our software stack consists of a pure-Ruby backend library which we use to communicate with train booking APIs, a modern Rails application, a PostgreSQL database, and two native mobile applications (iOS and Android).

Job Responsibilities:
We’re integrated with multiple rail operator booking systems, and we’re increasingly consuming other types of data too (e.g., timetable data for routing, real-time arrivals/departures etc.).
We need to diligently manage technical complexity, as each external system works in a slightly different way, with its own features and quirks. SOAP is (unfortunately) used by many operator APIs, which is why we released our open-source library, LolSoap.
In this role you will:
Scale our existing code and processes ✨
Strives to discover and understand the root cause of problems, suggesting new and improved solutions, rather than treating the symptoms 🔍
Adhere to industry best practices for testing, code linting, peer review, and clean modular maintainable code 👨💻
Willing to participate in an on-call rotation to cover technical emergencies out of hours ✅

Qualifications:
🎓 A BSc in Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant field or equivalent professional experience
🥇 We are looking for a Software Engineer (Ruby Developer) with 3/5 years or more of professional experience
🗣️ Mandatory English (daily working language)
👑 Have deep knowledge and experience of Ruby & Ruby on Rails and modern technologies such as Docker, AWS, TravisCi, Etc
💻 Can work for hours that have some overlap with European day time
📌 ROR expert, team-player, agile, good communication, curious, motivated.
