About the job

The job opening is for a new position, created as part of the Consumer Healthcare Global Business Unit’s (CHC GBU) autonomy roadmap. Reporting to the CHC Consolidation Senior Manager, we are seeking a capable professional to join our team as Consolidation Lead. There are three positions available to encompass the entire scope: one for the Europe Hub, one for the US and Latam Hub, and one for the Malaysia Hub.

In each role, you will be integral in:

  • Overseeing the financial consolidation process for a specific geographical area (approximately 20 legal entities), ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to accounting standards.

  • Managing various cross-functional consolidation tasks, including:

    • Scope management

    • Rates management (hyperinflation treatment)

    • Intercompany reconciliation & elimination

    • Impairment tests

    • Tax proof review

    • Cash flow statement analysis

    • Pensions analysis

    • Off Balance-sheet commitments

    • Contributing to the continuous improvement process

Main responsibilities

1. Financial Consolidation:

  • Manage the end-to-end financial consolidation process for your geographical scope (~20 legal entities), ensuring timely and accurate reporting in accordance with IFRS accounting standards.

  • Contribute to the specific instructions to the entities and conduct training sessions.

  • Coordinate with local finance teams and GBS to gather accurate and timely financial data.

  • Analyse the financial data reported by the entities and post the necessary top entries

  • Prepare the contributive analytical reviews (P&L, BS & CFS) of your scope with the support of local teams

  • Prepare the consolidated tax proof of your scope of entities

  • Ensure a correct documentation of the main closing options taken

  • Monitor a “Risks & opportunities” analysis for your scope in order to prepare and optimize the closing process

  • Participate actively to the Group reporting process optimization adopting a continuous improvement spirit, being proactive in feedbacks and a creative force.

  • Contribute to the integration projects of new entities in case of acquisitions and divestments

2. Compliance and Audit:

  • Ensure compliance with IFRS accounting standards and regulatory requirements in all aspects of the consolidation process.

  • Ensure the appropriate treatment is applied for complex and/or significant deals, as a support to local affiliates or other global departments

  • Participate to the evaluation of potential impacts of IFRS evolution for the Group and to the implementation of changes required (process, tools, change management).

  • Prepare and review financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Work closely with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process and address audit queries.

3. Disclosure Management:

  • Participate actively to the preparation of financial disclosures in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and ensure timely implementation of necessary adjustments.

  • Liaise with other departments in Finance group for their specific inputs (controlling, treasury and tax) and with Business groups.

4. System Strategy and Evolution:

  • Develop and share a deep understanding of the consolidation tools (SAP FC, Wdesk, Polo, ...)

  • Continuously evaluate and streamline consolidation processes, identifying opportunities for automation, standardization and efficiency gains.

  • Participate to the implementation of system upgrades or replacements, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and maximizing efficiency.

5. Cross-functional collaboration:

  • Collaborate with local finance teams and other stakeholders to facilitate communication, resolve issues and support decision-making with financial insights.

    • Develop a strong partnership with local finance teams (CFO, GBS teams) of your scope to facilitate the whole Group reporting process and to ensure the relevance of the analyses. You will participate in the CFO Quarterly review meetings of your scope. 

About you

  • You are a highly qualified professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and you bring 5 to 10 years of experience in financial consolidation and reporting.

  • Your expertise is not just limited to theory; you have a strong practical understanding of IFRS principles and hands-on experience with SAP FC and Microsoft Excel.

  • Your analytical skills are sharp, allowing you to synthesize complex financial data into clear insights.

  • You are known for your autonomy and your ability to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality. Your communication skills are exceptional, enabling effective collaboration across various levels of the organization.

  • You are business-minded with a focus on teamwork and continuous improvement. Your attention to detail is meticulous, and you can manage high-stress situations with ease.

  • Additionally, you are fluent in both English and French, and if possible, you hold an accounting certification.

  • Your profile is a blend of technical prowess and soft skills that make you an ideal candidate for a role requiring precision, leadership, and adaptability
