Septeo, a leading software publisher in Europe, is a rapidly growing group that is undergoing transformation. In just 10 years, we have become one of Europe's tech leaders and a benchmark in software publishing. This evolution is the result of collective effort—a testament to the determined, bold, and committed teams who work hand in hand with simplicity, conviviality, and trust.

Driven by shared values, at Septeo, we are together, we act together, and we transform together.

Already, we are present in every life milestone, thanks to the software we develop, available to millions of people—whether it's a real estate purchase, a wedding, starting a business, or traveling. It's a significant responsibility, one that we own and that could soon be yours.

Job Description

We are looking for a Manager M&A (Mergers & Acquisitions) based in Lattes (near Montpellier), on a permanent contract.

Possibility to be located in another office within the group in Europe (with presence in Lattes a few days per month).

What we can achieve together:

Reporting to the Director of External Growth, you will play a key role in deploying our growth strategy through acquisitions.

You will autonomously manage all stages of the M&A process, closely collaborating with target company executives, internal stakeholders (Executive Committee, operational departments, support functions), and external advisors (lawyers, consulting firms, co-shareholders).

Your daily responsibilities:

  • Origination : identifying and qualifying relevant targets, initial contact with executives.
  • Strategic and financial analysis of opportunities: data collection, modeling, financial review, preparation of investment notes for shareholders.
  • Negotiation: drafting and negotiating letters of intent, coordinating acquisition audits, managing legal documentation with external advisors.
  • Closing and integration: overseeing activities up to signing and supporting post-acquisition integration plans.

Preferred experience

What we're looking for in you:

You have a higher education degree (business school, engineering school, or university), with a specialization in finance or strategy, and 5 to 7 years of experience in demanding environments. You can demonstrate established experience in M&A corporate, investment banking, private equity, or Transaction Services consulting, with a proven ability to manage acquisition projects from start to finish.

You are recognized for:

  • Strong financial acumen (financial analysis, modeling, valuation).
  • Mastery of the M&A process from origination to integration.
  • Ability to interact with company executives and produce clear, concise, impactful deliverables for senior management or shareholders.

We seek a personality who can blend rigor with humility, possessing:

  • Analytical mindset, curiosity, and rigor.
  • High autonomy and initiative.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, in sometimes fluid contexts.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.

Fluency in English is essential, and proficiency in a second language other than French would be a plus. For non-French speakers, intermediate proficiency in French is required.
