Swan is seeking a Lead Financial Controller to join our top-tier Finance team of six people.
As an Accounting Lead, you will oversee our accounting team, currently consisting of two members, with a third to be hired soon.
You will report directly to the CFO and work closely with our external accountant to manage the full accounting scope. Your role will be critical in maintaining and improving Swan’s financial health and compliance.
✨ Main tasks
Own & drive Accounting Operations
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings in PCEC (plan comptable des établissements de crédit). Prepare our monthly financial statements. Develop and execute our strategy to optimize closing efficiency (reliability & speed).
Own the different processes paramount to Swan’s financial health (Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Treasury Management, etc), and manage the implementation of strategic tools essential to Swan’s scaling.
Manage our existing European subsidiaries in relationship with our local accountants, and setup the accounting framework for our new country openings.
Manage Banking Accounting scope
Perform reconciliation and resolve potential spreads or pending operations.
Serve as the company’s expert on banking accounting matters, partnering with other departments, and advising with respect to accounting implications (product launch, internal control policies, etc.)
Prepare our quarterly regulatory reporting on our financial statements and capital requirements (RUBA/COREP) for the Banque de France (ACPR), and our European stakeholders.
Team Management
Lead and manage the accounting team, offering guidance, mentorship, and coaching to support team development.
Oversee people management efforts, including recruitment, performance evaluations, career growth, and employee retention.
✨ You’re a great match if:
You have 7+ years of experience in accounting / financial audit, with at least 3 years in a financial institution (start-up experience is a plus, but not necessary). Additionally, you must have prior experience in a management role.
You have already worked with PCEC accounting standard (plan comptable des établissements de crédit).
You have already worked in an international environment, overseeing branches and subsidiaries (experience with UK is a plus).
You’re rigorous and organized: your approach is meticulous, with a keen attention to detail in all aspects of your work.
You’re autonomous and proactive: you know how to manage your priorities and are able to adapt to changing conditions.
You embrace challenges: you’re enthusiastic about tackling complex tasks and thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
You’re tech-savvy: you’re already proficient or willing to become proficient with modern accounting tools. You like technology and automation.
You have advanced Excel and Google Suite skills: you’re adept at using these tools to manipulate data and create detailed reports.
