Swan is looking for a TypeScript Software Engineer to join its tech team of 70+ people.
The Engineering team is by far the largest at Swan. This team includes Software developers, who build payments and end-customer applications, as well as Infrastructure, DevOps, QA, and Security.
Swan has a diverse team of engineers from all over the place. Co-building is at the heart of the way we work. We believe in challenging each other. We believe that the values of honesty and frankness while respecting others and showing empathy, are the best way to work together and get things done in a healthy environment.

Methodology
At Swan, we build a product that is mainly designed to be consumed by other engineers. As such, we expect Engineers to take a real role in co-building the product we offer, proposing ideas, and challenging what’s doable.
To facilitate this, Engineers are split into independent squads of 4 to 8 engineers working alongside dedicated Product Managers. They build together the roadmap on a quarterly basis and are able to iterate on it in a cycle of 2 to 4 weeks.
Because the stability of our system is important, we expect engineers to come up with technical projects that help us scale and add them to the roadmap like we would any feature.
Our product
Swan makes it extremely easy for anyone to embed banking features, whether they’re a dev or an entrepreneur (or both). It’s exciting to build a bank that can be integrated by anyone! We’d love for Swan to become the reflex for European engineers who want to build something with banking and payments.
The banking domain is a fascinating and challenging place to grow your skills. It’s state-of-the-art and covers everything you’ve learned at school: security, consistency, and scalability, but building a “bank” is a lot different from building another type of startup. In the banking sector, you can’t compromise on product quality and leave issues unresolved. That’s why Swan puts security and robustness first and foremost. Join Swan and you’ll be pushed to reach the highest standards of quality and precision.

It’s okay if you don’t tick all the boxes — don’t let imposter syndrome prevent you from applying! 🙌

When it comes to recruitment, we’re interested in your work experience, skills, and overall personality. Because diversity makes the workplace stronger and is necessary for Swan’s success, we are intensifying efforts to incorporate concrete actions to help us improve in this area.
✨ Perks of being a Swanee:
Our hybrid remote policy offers the best of both worlds: a great office setting and the flexibility to work remotely with at least 2-3 days each month in our Parisian office. 🚂
Relocation package available (If you want to settle in Paris)
Swan encourages you to have fun staying fit, thanks to partnerships with Classpass & Gymlib.
We respect your lunch break. Mid-day free-time is sacred and our French office even provides a Swile card to cover your meal on work days. 🥪
Twice a year we go somewhere gorgeous (a chateau, a mountain) where we reconnect, deep-dive into big topics, and relax.
This isn’t a perk, it should be the rule, but diversity and inclusion are important at Swan. We’re working hard to get better every day.
✨ Our values:
Swan’s core values guide our actions daily. Individually, they may seem obvious, but together, they form a unique culture.
Simplicity: Leonardo Da Vinci said: “simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” If something’s convoluted or confusing, we work extra hard to break it down. - Making complex things simple is what we do.
Long Term: We always play the long game, whether it’s to support our partners in their growth journey, or make tangible commitments to climate action.
Excellence: We are a team of experts who consistently go all out to create pixel-perfect banking services and exceed our partners’ expectations— whatever it takes.
Be Human: We believe in the power of kindness and the importance of acting with integrity. But embracing our humanity extends beyond interpersonal interactions, it means caring about greater issues that affect our planet.
