Within Technip Energies universe, the Operating Center of Paris is referenced as the group's center of excellence and expertise. The Process and Technologies Division is involved in many areas, such as low-carbon energy production technologies (including Liquefied Natural Gas), biofuels and synthetic fuels, ethylene and polyolefins, plastics recycling, carbon dioxide capture and sequestration, green hydrogen, blue and green ammonia and other low-carbon or carbon-free energy carriers. 

Our Reference Technologies are settled in the Energy Transition process and are fully steered towards the decarbonized future of energy production, Chemistry, and Petrochemistry. In addition, our Operating Center of Paris is a key player in the Group in terms of R&D, for the development of new and innovative technologies

 

About the position

We are currently looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join our team based in Paris, France.

Reporting to the Head of one of the Technological Departments of the Processes and Technologies Division of the Paris Operating Center, you will be involved for all types of projects (feasibility, conceptual, Basic, FEED, EPC, etc.)

As a Senior Process Engineer, you will be in charge of the following tasks and assignments:

 

  • Management and lead of the activities of a Processes team on projects (calculation notes, sizing, process simulations, PFD, H&MB, P&ID, specifications (equipment, instrument and piping), design philosophies, control and safety philosophies / logics, technical reports, etc.):
    • Team supervision (up to 5 junior process engineers), and checking/validation of the produced results,
    • Supervision of the production and of the issuance of the process deliverables,
    • Involvement in the training of the junior engineers and in developing their skills,
    • Participation in safety, environment and operation reviews (HAZOP, SIL, HAZID and ENVID),
  • Management of complex design problems and technical support for process-related subjects,
  • Organization and lead of the process design reviews and of the P&ID reviews,
  • Coordination of the technical interfaces for the process-related matters with all stakeholders (e.g. Clients, Suppliers, Partners, Subcontractors, Licensors, Engineering Disciplines, Project Management, etc.),
  • Support to pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up operations of facilities in France and abroad,
  • Contribution to R&D activities, development of feedback notes at the end of projects, involvement in the development of methods, tools, procedures and technical guidelines.

 

You will carry out these tasks and assignments in compliance with the applicable rules and procedures, in accordance with the schedule, budgets, and objectives that are defined, and with a constant focus on Quality, safety, and Client satisfaction.

 

About you:

Interested and motivated to be a player in the energy transition, you want to discover new technologies or innovative processes or deepen your knowledge of certain types of processes. 

Independent, dynamic and meticulous, you have good communication skills, and you feel at ease in a multicultural environment. You also encourage diversity and inclusion and make a point of participating in the right work atmosphere.

You enjoy teamwork in an international environment on a variety of projects. You are fluent in English. You have a basic knowledge of French or are willing to learn it.

You are a diploma holder of an engineering degree or a master’s degree in chemical engineering or process engineering

You have sound knowledge in the area of the material and energy transformation applied to the Industry (thermodynamics, chemistry, energetics and fluid mechanics). 

You have sound knowledge and proven experiences in one (or more) of the technological area(s) covered by our Operating Center of Paris:

  • Development of Fields, Gas Treatment, Liquefied Natural Gas and low-carbon energies,
  • Ethylene, Olefins, circularity and plastics recycling,
  • Refining, biofuels and e-fuels, 
  • Carbon-Free technologies (e.g. green hydrogen, blue/green ammonia, etc.),
  • Carbon management and decarbonization of the Industry (including CO2 Capture).

You are proficient in several process simulation tools, including HYSYS, UniSim, PRO II, ProSim, Pipenet and Flarenet.

You are proficient in process design (modeling and process simulations, PFD’s, H&MB’s, P&ID’s, instrument and equipment sizing, PDS’s, etc.). 

You have a minimum of 5 years' successful and validated experience in process engineering and process design (or related activities, such as process licensing, operations/production, etc.), in the Energy, Chemicals or Petrochemicals sectors.

You have already managed and led small teams of engineers.
