Technip Energies - Together, pushing the boundaries to shape a sustainable future

Technip Energies is a leading engineering and technology company serving the energy transition, with leading positions in Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), hydrogen and ethylene and with a strong presence in the growing markets of blue and green hydrogen, sustainable chemistry, floating offshore wind turbines and CO2 capture and storage. The company benefits from its strong project delivery model, supported by an extensive offering of technologies, products and services.

With our commitments to Diversity & Inclusion and Sustainable Development (here), with a presence in 35 countries, our 15,000 employees are fully committed to bringing our customers' innovative projects to life, pushing the boundaries of what is possible to accelerate the energy transition to a better future.

Technip Energies is a leading engineering and technology company serving the energy transition.

Proposed missions: Optimization of steam network simulations

The activity of the Process & Technology Division is at the heart of the engineering projects carried out by Technip Energies. In the context of the energy transition, designing optimized process flows is essential. Steam, used as a hot utility, is an important source of energy consumption in factories, especially in steam cracking units: a modern steam cracking unit generates and uses about 500 MW of heat and mechanical power via steam. Optimising the energy efficiency of steam networks is therefore essential.

Currently, process engineers use various tools and simulators to generate steam balances, a preliminary step to process optimization. New software has been developed recently. The possibilities offered by each tool are different.

The process team wants to test the functionalities of the new tools and reconsider the use of existing tools, with the aim of standardizing our practices and gaining in efficiency.

As part of this internship, you will be integrated into the teams of the Processes and Technologies division and you will work, under the supervision of an experienced engineer and with the support of the entire team, on the following subjects:

  • To increase skills in the simulation tools of existing steam networks
  • Test new simulation software
  • Develop calculation tools specific to vapour balances.
  • Test one or more software programs on current projects or reference projects
  • Optimize steam networks and calculate the energy efficiency of each (including water consumption)
  • Write an operating manual for the selected software(s)

Profile sought:

What we expect from you:

-           In Bac +4 or Bac+5 courses

-           You have a solid background in process engineering, energy balance and mass balance

-           You have a strong appetite for innovation subjects, particularly technological ones, and are autonomous and synthetic in the production of a study.

-           You are curious, rigorous, organized and creative.

-           You have a good sense of communication.

-           You have operational English (oral and written).

* Knowledge of the office pack.

During this internship, you will be accompanied by a tutor to answer your various questions. This internship will be an opportunity for you to increase your skills and knowledge.

Are you looking to carry out your internship in an international and dynamic environment, to take part in large-scale projects and to take on technical and organizational challenges?
