Who we’re looking for

We’re on the hunt for a French native creative Copywriter & Marketing Content Exec to join our in-house content team and be the voice of Trainline France. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about writing and can help us speak in our distinctive Trainline brand voice across all our marketing touchpoints.

A passionate and collaborative creative copywriter, this person will be tasked with delivering powerful, persuasive and conceptual copy that cuts through the noise. We’re looking for someone who knows how to build a relationship with our customers through words and can help us create powerful and effective marketing comms.
You’ll report into the French Senior Content Lead and join a passionate team who look after our core markets (UK, France, Italy, Germany and Spain).

Our remit is constantly expanding, so we need someone who can roll up their sleeves and dive right in and always keeping the customer in mind.

What you’ll be doing

  • Writing effective and powerful copy for emails, social media posts and other written material, based on strong conceptual thinking and solid insights.
  • You’ll partner with designers to come up with concepts and present ideas to stakeholders before executing beautifully crafted and original copy.
  • Support building the French content calendar including advising on topics relevant for the French market in order to increase the brand awareness, acquire new customers and retain existing ones.
  • Be the guardian of the Trainline tone of voice in France and consistency of content through all of our marketing communications and brand campaigns.
  • Managing all French social media, including content creation for engaging brand content and community management.
  • Translating and adapting brand campaigns and product features for a global and cohesive approach.
  • Translating and adapting product features such as homepage, banners and content related to specific product launches.
  • Using your strong editorial skills to catch any typos, punctuation and grammar mistakes.
  • Working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, staying cool under pressure.

Preferred experience

Knowledge and experience

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Excellent written French and English and strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Expertise in editing copy, applying a brand voice and adapting your style to suit the audience
  • Demonstrable copywriting experience in the form of a portfolio of published work
  • Understanding of how copy and design work together and that content is more than just words
  • Planning and organisational skills with an ability to prioritise competing demands
  • Experience of delivering measurable results, especially in commercial metrics
  • Confidence using a CMS and translation tools such as Trados/Smartling
  • Interest in travel and consumer technology, culture and trends
