Job Description

At Trainline we are always striving to innovate, find improvements to our processes and drive efficiencies in our ways of working.  We are currently undergoing a finance transformation to help us achieve all three within our Financial Control team.

Inthis newly created role as a Project Accountant, you will play a key role in helping to transform our finance function and will be at the forefront of creating value-add opportunities for the team.

Key projects will include:

  • Develop and implement a project plan that supports the implementation of new accounting standards from a systems perspective i.e.  IFRS 18
  • Review and rationalisation of historic intercompany balances
  • Support of our finance transformation team across projects such as journal and balance sheet reconciliation automation
  • Investigate and document our FX treatment across our finance system
  • Assistance with building our balance sheet in our forecasting and reporting tool, Anaplan (Anaplan experience desirable but not required)
  • Other ad hoc projects

Preferred experience

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent, desirable 3+ PQ years’ experience and strong technical accounting experience
  • A self starter with a can-do attitude
  • Good communication skills, comfortable explaining concepts and bringing others on the journey
  • Well organised and able to manage own workload to meet deadlines
  • Naturally inquisitive and analytical mindset, be able to quickly grasp the fundamentals of complex systems and processes whilst also considering the bigger picture
  • Experience operating with an enterprise wide, integrated finance system across multiple business units desirable
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing processes for operational change and enhancing existing processes
  • Advanced Excel skills
