As a Data Science Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting the successful merger of two sister companies by leveraging your analytical skills and data expertise. Your mission is to contribute to the establishment of a harmonised data ecosystem, supporting a seamless integration and high-quality data practices across VWT (Veolia Water Technologies). You will liaise with counterparts at VWTS (ex-Suez, Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions).

Your main tasks will be:

1. Common Reporting and KPIs:

• Assist in developing and implementing a unified common reporting framework for both companies as part of an engagement committee approved project.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and align key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Create data visualizations and dashboards to effectively communicate insights

2. Data Quality Initiatives:

• Participate in data profiling and regular cleansing activities
• Develop and implement data quality metrics and monitoring processes
• Assist in creating data quality improvement strategies
• Support the commercial data domain owner on driving progress across the organization
• Communicate with global data stewards

3. Data Readiness:

• Assess the current state of data systems and processes in both companies
• Identify gaps and opportunities for data integration and optimization
• Contribute to the development of a data readiness roadmap for the merger
• Contribute to the development of a data readiness roadmap for implementing AI initiatives

4. Corporate Data Stewardship:

• Support the implementation of data governance policies and procedures
• Help create and maintain data dictionaries and metadata repositories

Duration and committment :

This internship is a part-time position, requiring a commitment of 3 days per week for a period of 2 years. This extended timeframe will allow you to gain in-depth experience and make significant contributions to the merger process.

As an intern, you will work closely with experienced professionals, gaining valuable insights into data science applications in a real-world business environment. Your contributions will be instrumental in shaping the data landscape of the newly merged organization.

You will report directly to the Commercial Excellence Director, VWT.
