The position

Job description

As a Game Designer, you will collaborate with different developers from other studios to deliver the best user experience, following the game’s creative direction. You will be also responsible for the development of systems, controls and game situations in order to bring the game’s vision into a playable satisfying experience.

Responsibilities

  • Absorb the creative briefs and the creative vision of the game.
  • Design gameplay on paper, in a succinct and easy to understand format, in line with the game’s vision.
  • Formalize and document the systems in order to communicate them to the programming and design teams. Keep the documentation up to date over time.
  • Script and implement 3Cs, Abilities, Behaviors and other gameplay elements.
  • Expand or subtract from existing gameplay features, according to the scope of the game.
  • Script and implement level design elements in the editor.
  • Provide balancing documents and tweak the game in-engine.
  • Iterate parameters and design components until a satisfactory gameplay experience is achieved.
  • Work on control ergonomics and UI principles.

Preferred experience

Qualifications

  • Graduated from Game Design or Gameplay Programming school;
  • Unreal engine or blueprint scripting skills are required;
  • Excellent communicator (spoken and written);
  • English is mandatory.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Initiative on problem solving;
  • Adaptability to change, be it design ingredients or project rescoping;
  • Attention to details, thoroughness in development and documentation;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken;
  • Efficient and autonomous.
  • Variety and depth of personal references (games, movies, art, culture, activities, etc).
