The Underwriting team at Wakam, is the cornerstone of risk assessment and decision-making thanks to the internal datas and industry insights to make informed decisions, ensuring Wakam provides comprehensive and competitive insurance solutions.

Missions

Function Overview:

You will join the Wakam Underwriting team to help us profitably grow our business on the UK market. You will report to the UK Chief Underwriting Officer.

This role will lead the motor and mobility underwriting in the UK in conjunction with UK Chief Underwriting Officer and the Chief Underwriting Officer, Motor & Mobility

Responsibilities:

• Support the underwriting strategy for Motor and Mobility, working with our pricing, product, claims and other teams
• Growing motor and mobility lines profitability and in-line with our financial objectives
• Portfolio management responsibility for motor lines, working with our actuarial and other teams
• Accountability for the underwriting results for motor and mobility
• Acting as a product and market expert in the UK market
• Interacting with the market where appropriate (MGAs, Brokers and Direct clients) in conjunction with our revenue teams

Profile Requirements

Experience & key skills:

• A minimum 5-years of senior underwriting experience with a major insurance company in a similar role is required
• Advanced underwriting experience of Motor and Mobility products, personal and commercial in UK
• Must have experience of underwriting products in the areas of telematics, connectivity, gig economy (delivery and taxi) etc
• You are proficient in Microsoft Office Applications – Word, Excel & Power Point
• You demonstrate strong analytical skills with experience of portfolio managment
• English required (another European language a plus, but not essential)
• This position will be based in UK. Frequent trips to our Paris office will be required
