Your Role:
This is a varied role in which no two days will be the same. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and execute high-level global marketing campaigns for a roster of frontline artists that further their careers and the success of their releases. As a senior member of the Global Classics Marketing team based in Paris , you will provide mentorship to junior colleagues on this multinational team, help the department to create best practices for artist development and marketing,
The role requires close co-ordination with A&R, digital agencies, creative agencies, photographers and video producers, artists and their managements.
Scope and scale of the role:
Develop and implement the Warner Classics marketing and communication strategy under direction of VP International Marketing
Negotiate and agree global digital advertising marketing strategies and commitment in alignment with global release strategy and priority plan
Responsibilities:
You will oversee global campaigns start-to-finish, agreeing budgets and ORKs (objectives and key results) with the co-heads of department artists, artist managers , and create plans that combine creative, analytical, and strategic thinking to drive artist development, audience growth, DSP/retail engagement, and commercial success for their releases across digital and physical formats
You will onboard and brief external suppliers on campaigns and help build our network of top-tier digital ad agencies, producers, creators, contractors, consultants and control the budget for the digital campaigns
You will combine a global perspective with local expertise, developing your artists’ fanbases globally online, in view of increasing their audience reach while focusing on building their careers in key local markets in partnership with local affiliates
You will keep internal and external stakeholders apprised of progress, being clear in your written and verbal communications, and deliver reports upon competition that illustrate the value added by our team efforts
You will seek out, analyze, and interpret data, keeping on top of campaign performance according both to industry benchmarks and commercial impact
You will work with artists and their teams to bring campaigns to life through creative storytelling by commissioning photos, artwork, videos, press text, animations, etc., handling negotiations, contracting and budgeting to ensure the on-time delivery of first-rate assets
You will act as the primary marketing point-of-contact externally for the artists and their teams and internally within Warner, working in collaboration with reps and affiliates to set up local press, promotion and campaigns
You will build the artists’ fanbases on a grassroots level by working in cooperation with artist reps and promoters to arrange signings and venue sales around tours
You will draft and circulate B2B communications on artist projects, keeping local affiliates abreast of release plans and campaign developments
You will mentor, support, and share best practices with other members of the Global Classics Marketing team, and work collaboratively with our Warner Classics colleagues across A&R, Commercial, Finance, and Business Affairs
You will collaborate internally with WMG in-house teams dedicated to content production, brand deals, sync, audience/CRM, data analytics, D2C, merch, and corporate communications, to name a few, leveraging our resources as a major label to build multi-pronged campaigns for artists, releases, and catalog
You will represent the label at concerts and events, including those on nights and weekends, and occasionally travel on business within France and internationally
You will contribute ideas for A&R, sync, and licensing opportunities, marketing and commercial partnerships, playlists, and anything that drives potentially business forward – creative thinking and risk taking is encouraged!
You have both a creative and commercial mindset and are capable of working autonomously
You have a passion for and/or and deep knowledge of classical music, as well as extensive experience in marketing
You are well versed in working in an international, multicultural environment and have business fluency in English
You are proactive, enthusiastic and entrepreneurial and are a successful project manager, owning both your successes and your mistakes
You have a track record of managing budgets and negotiating deal terms with suppliers
You possess the ability to work with stakeholders across multiple businesses and balance competing interests, with excellent prioritization skills
You have drive, initiative and enthusiasm, and are willing to travel abroad when business calls
You are analytical, a skilled negotiator and a creative problem solver
You understand how owned, earned, and paid media work together to create impactful campaigns that engage and grow audiences, with a particular emphasis on digital, tech, and social platforms that drive the majority of consumption today, such as TikTok
You have a track record of commissioning or producing engaging owned-media assets such as videos, photos, recordings, or podcasts in the music space
You have expertise in paid media, particularly social media advertising
You are flexible, adaptable, and eager to work as part of a team in a fast-paced – and fast-changing – environment
You are an effective communicator and storyteller
You have a track record of being a strong team player, are highly organized and detailed-orientated, and enjoy receiving feedback
You have examples of how you’ve interpreted data to inform both quantitative and qualitative decision-making on campaigns
