The position

Job description

About the role: 

Part of the Tech team and working with Bastien, our DevOps Engineer, you’ll contribute to the reliability, scalability, and performance of our technology and maintenance of the infrastructure that supports our rapid growth

Your role is crucial in improving the overall architecture to support growth and realize WeWard’s ambitions.

When you join the team in our Paris Office, you’ll be part of an adventure where every team member has autonomy and makes a significant impact. You’ll be involved in the company’s strategic and technical decisions, and you’ll have a strong and immediate impact on our users: 3M Daily Users  🚶‍♂️📱

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain highly available, scalable, and fault-tolerant systems.

  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and management using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.

  • Monitor system performance, proactively identify and troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions.

  • Develop and implement automation scripts for infrastructure tasks, reducing manual effort and improving efficiency.

  • Collaborate closely with development teams to improve the overall reliability and performance of our applications.

  • Participate in on-call rotations, ensuring 24/7 system availability and rapid response to incidents.

  • Stay on the cutting edge of industry best practices and emerging technologies.

In addition to this purely technical aspect, we also expect you to be able to challenge the infrastructure by proposing relevant improvements or new features. And that you’re able to interact with different types of contacts (backend, devops, product, design, marketing…) 🤝


Preferred experience

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience as an SRE Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or in a similar role within a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiar with Unix systems: The system administration is the core.

  • Proficiency in CI/CD: Github Actions or Gitlab-CI for the pipelines and Git for the code versioning

  • Experience with monitoring with tools such as Datadog, etc. 

  • Security awareness: Understand best practices for securing our network

  • Being able to understand Python to support the Backend Engineers

  • Cloud knowledge: Manage our AWS cloud stacks and services (EC2, ECS, ELB, Lambda, RDS PostgreSQL, S3, CloudWatch, etc.)

  • An appetite on the databases (SQL and NoSQL): Handle the PostgreSQL and Redis with a high volume

  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Experience in running Infrastructure as code ideally with Terraform.

  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Bonus:

  • Knowledge in Queuing (FIFO manner) such as RabbitMQ, SQS, Kafka.
