About AQEMIA

AQEMIA is a next-gen pharmatech company generating one of the world's fastest-growing drug discovery pipeline.

Our mission is to design fast innovative drug candidates for dozens of critical diseases, such as immuno-oncology.

Our unique approach leverages quantum-inspired physics algorithms to power generative AI in designing novel drug candidates—without relying on experimental data.

We already delivered several drug discovery successes within our internal pipeline and through collaborations with pharmaceutical companies. Our most advanced programs are currently in vivo optimization.

About the team you’ll join:

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will join the Data Engineering Team and play a key role in designing, building and running a modern, reliable, and scalable Data Platform for Aqemia’s engineering teams. You will also guide and support engineering teams in structuring their data pipelines and assets, ensuring best practices in data modeling, architecture, and governance. With your expertise, you will be instrumental in scaling our data infrastructure to support our cutting-edge drug discovery efforts.

  • Ensure data quality on the entire flow.
  • In a data mesh-oriented organisation, provide engineering teams with the right tools and best practices to develop their own pipelines and data assets.
  • Support engineering teams in data pipeline and data asset design, ensuring data is structured for our different use cases (exploration, HPC, visualisation)
  • Bring deep Data Engineering expertise into projects, from design to delivery.
  • Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Software Engineer.
  • Strong experience in data modeling, in both relational and non-relational database context.
  • Knowledge of Cloud infrastructure and products (AWS preferred, other cloud experience is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of data engineering building blocks (storage, orchestration, governance).
  • Hands on experience on Data Quality best practices.
  • Proficiency in Python or another object-oriented programming language.
  • Experience in designing and delivering technical projects from end to end.
  • Nice to have:
  • Proficient in SQL and database optimisation.
  • Experience with backend engineering and integrating data systems.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code techniques (e.g. Terraform).
  • Knowledge of ML Ops and DevOps best practices.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating business needs into scalable data solutions.
  • Preferred Mindset

  • Ability to set a technical vision for the team and align it with company objectives.
  • Collaborative Leader: Thrives in an interdisciplinary environment and values teamwork.
  • Pragmatic and Impact-Driven: Balances scientific rigor with real-world application.
  • Growth-Oriented: Invests in the development of team members and fosters a culture of continuous learning.
  • Passionate about pushing the boundaries of physics-based drug discovery.
