🎯 The role – Build, Own, and Scale OpenBAS

You’ll work in a medium-sized team alongside Engineering Managers, Product Owners, Staff Engineers and a dozen of developers with diverse profile and expertise— with direct access to our leadership.

Your mission

  • Be a key builder of OpenBAS, the open-source, cutting-edge breach and attack simulation platform from Filigran

  • Own end-to-end features: from concept to production, ensuring quality, scalability, and performance.

  • Collaborate directly with product to translate vision into a concrete, high-quality user experience.

  • Engage with the open-source community: working at Filigran gives you the opportunity to contribute to a wider ecosystem, interact with thousands of users and developers, and drive adoption.

OpenBAS product

  • OpenBAS is an open source platform designed to help organizations plan, program and carry out crisis exercises and attack simulations.

  • The solution can be used to create customized scenarios, simulate crises, assess security posture, and test responses to cyberthreats.

  • OpenBAS offers advanced features such as media pressure simulation, team and asset management, and integration with external tools

  • It also offers an extensible ecosystem including injectors and collectors to enrich its use.

Tech stack & Tooling

We believe in using standard and open-source technologies.

  • Frontend: JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Axios

  • Backend: Java, Spring, Python, Rust

  • Database: PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch

  • Infrastructure: Drone, GitHub Actions

  • Observability & Tooling: GitHub, Grafana

You don’t need to be an expert in all of these, but you should be excited to work in this ecosystem and be able to ramp up quickly. Do not hesitate to have a look at our Github repositories, everything’s open-source ☀️

Requisitos

We’re looking for engineers who are excited to build, solve complex problems, and contribute to a meaningful product.

  • You have experience working in a remote environment, knowing the challenges it brings in terms of collaboration and communication.

  • You care about writing clean, well-structured frontend code. You’re learning how to build user interfaces that are easy to improve and grow over time.

  • You’re curious about how things work behind the scenes—not just using APIs, but understanding how they’re made. You’re starting to get familiar with how web apps communicate, including things like routes, authentication, and REST APIs.

  • You are product-driven. You care about UX, performance, and making technical choices that improve the user experience.

  • You take ownership. You don’t wait for specs to be handed down—you drive discussions, challenge ideas, and propose better solutions.

  • You want to build something bigger than yourself. With OpenBAS being an open-source project in the BAS community you’ll have the chance to interact with a growing community of engineers and security professionals.

  • You are comfortable working in an English-first environment. Our documentation, discussions, and async communication are all in English. The team is francophone, so French is commonly spoken day-to-day.

🔹 If you’re looking for a role where you simply execute predefined tasks, this might not be the right fit. We need builders — engineers who thrive on ownership, problem-solving, and shaping the future of our products.
