As an Engineering Manager Data, your primary role is to lead a team of software engineers in creating impactful software data products. This involves guiding the team’s technical direction, helping them do better, and making sure they meet their goals and roadmaps. Additionally, you’ll help build a sustainable engineering environment that supports long-term growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Balance strong technical skills with effective people management abilities.

  • Drive the creation and execution of roadmaps.

  • Lead teams in delivering multiple data projects.

  • Engage in technical discussions, contribute to software architecture, and facilitate problem-solving.

  • Measure team impact, establish clear expectations and goals.

  • Oversee the software development lifecycle, implementing best-in-class engineering practices.

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners and stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes.

  • Mentor and support the professional development of team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Encourage innovation and innovative thinking among team members.

  • Communicate effectively with team members, peers, and stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into clear terms as necessary.

  • Lead by example, establishing a positive work environment and promoting team cohesion.


Requisitos

We welcome individuals with entrepreneurial backgrounds as well as those from established organizations. At Swile, we believe that delivering impactful products requires engineers to understand the needs of users and clients as well as the code itself.

  • Solid background in software engineering, and proven experience in team management

  • Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures, including designing, deploying, and managing real-time data streaming solutions to enable scalable and responsive systems

  • Extensive experience working with modern data and cloud technologies, including Snowflake, Terraform, Airflow and DBT (data build tool) Proven ability to design, deploy, and optimize robust data pipelines using these tools to drive data-driven decision-making.

  • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team

  • Demonstrated experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management -> You do not need to be familiar with our technical stack or any specific functional area, but we have a strong willingness to learn and adapt quickly
