L’activité Systèmes terrestres et aériens conçoit des systèmes, des équipements, des capteurs et des services pour le contrôle du trafic aérien civil et militaire, la défense aérienne ainsi que le combat naval et terrestre.Le site de Rungis est idéalement situé à proximité de l’aéroport d’Orly. Site à l’architecture moderne, il compte aujourd’hui plus de 1000 collaborateurs travaillant pour nos trois domaines d’activité : les radars, le contrôle du trafic aérien et les systèmes d’armes avancés.

CONTEXTE, STAKES AND CHALLENGES

Part of the Global Business Unit Land and Air Systems (LAS) within Thales Group, Thales AMS (Airspace Mobility Solutions) is providing leading edge airspace control and security solutions for the commercial and defense sectors, as well as digital solutions for Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) and Digital Aviation. AMS represents revenues of over 500 million Euros worldwide and is the global market leader in the space of Air Traffic Management and one of the most credible players in the new UTM space.

AMS address different markets of Air Traffic Control (ATC) solutions (mainly SW based). Projects involves teams in France (Rungis/Toulouse), Portugal, UK, Romania and Australia. The TopSky-C Product line delivers low cost solutions.

The SE Proxy Lead coordinate System Engineering activities for TopSky-C and interface with the key stakeholders: SE Lead in France Rungis, the Feature Teams from the development teams in Romania or in France, the Verification Team in Romania, the Integration, validation and Site Support Team.

This position is based in Romania at THR with some international travels (30%). The first 2 to 3 months will require coming to Rungis for the upskilling/training. No security clearance required for this position.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES)

The SE Proxy Lead is responsible for:

• coordinating the SE activities (organization, backlog on requirements, priorities, schedule, PCR backlog) to ensure quick and insightful decisions
• assigning activities within Romania SE Team
• monitoring and reporting KPIs on SE activities to SE Lead and play role of relay with SE Team
• updating Doors requirements or Specification when decision agreed in CCB (Change Control Board)
• identifying and putting in place the processes and tools to support the SEIVV team in their activities
• delivering toward the agreed plan / baseline
• contributing to the project meetings and interfacing with the key stakeholders when needed
• managing the external supplier when SE support contractualized in Romania
• maintaining SE schedule and managing the risks and opportunities
• ensuring Thales processes (Chorus) are being followed on the project, maintaining our quality standards in accordance with the Project management Plan and Engineering plan
• building and maintaining an onboarding kit on TopSky-C for SE newcomers in Romania in collaboration with System Engineering Discipline Manager.
• contributing to maintaining TopSky-C product documentation (specification, interfaces documents, …)
• contributing to some site support in order to understand customer infrastructure and operational usage

QUALIFICATION

Experience required

• General engineering Diploma
• 1+ years’ experience in similar positions on projects delivering complex software-centric real-time systems
• 3+ years’ experience as system engineer on complexe system of system
• Experience in the ATM Domain and Air Traffic Management standards eg. ICAO, Eurocontrol
• Experience with collective decisions and conflict resolutions
• Proven capability to manage various stakeholders having different objectives
• Proven capability to work in a multi-cultural environment and with variety of international customers
• Experience in managing backlog priorities and project planning

Knowledge/ Skills

• Master System Engineering tools eg. DOORs, Jira, Polarion
• Aptitude to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary integrated team environment
• Positive attitude combined with excellent interpersonal and motivational skills
• Sound judgement and independent decision-making capability where necessary
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
