Department description:

The DUNE (Dynamic Utility for Investment Earnings) Solution is a tool developed by the Group to manage and track investments income on IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) including non-GAAP and local GAAPs, fully integrated with other accounting, and controlling systems, and reducing data crunching tasks to allow higher focus on analysis tasks.

The benefit of the tool is to leverage on a powerful calculation engine, which will allow to perform precise forecasting and projections with an adequate consideration of all existing constraints (accounting schemes, SAAs, Solvency, UGCL budgets, RA limits, etc.) and internal management rules.

It will also allow to measure the impact of investment-related strategies and market shocks on financials.

The DUNE Solution team operates with multiple suppliers (Finance, Risk Management, Asset Management, Performance Controlling, Actuary, Group IT, etc.) and multiple clients (Group and local entities, finance, investment, risk, compliance, etc.)  

The main challenges are:

• to manage the pricing complex investments, with new type of investments coming frequently.
• to manage the several accounting norms and their evolution.
• to manage the multiple stakeholders using different inputs, output features and tools.
• to have the solidity of a robust process under the scrutiny of various internal controls and the agility to adapt rapidly to market crisis or other circumstances.

Detailed missions and responsibilities:

Provide the Group Investment professionals and other stakeholders with earnings forecast process dedicated to investments, fed by quality data, and providing reliable outputs.

The mission encompasses :

• Develop and improve the process of earnings projection on financial assets across the group.
• Contribute to the development of a tool taking a deterministic approach to forecast earnings, invested assets and cash flows to facilitate the building of strategic plans, sensitivities, impairments and other simulations.
• The mission encompasses the design and development of such a tool using SQL/Python in a Spark environment (Azure Databricks), the writing of a documentation and the creation of a dynamic restitution of the results using a web-based reporting tool with regular production of the outputs/reports, including quantitative controlled data.
• Help in Coordinating the tool use and outputs/reports production with local investment teams.

Key accountabilities:

DUNE Technical Platform Modelling 

• Production of reliable, readable, version controlled, documented & commented code in SQL/Python
• Maintain a comprehensive and up to date documentation of the code/project.
• Ensure the integrity & consistency of the tool while integrating new features (such as pricing methods).
• Develop the platform enhancement with new accounting norms.
• Contribute to define and implement new functionalities based on user needs (tool ergonomics, outputs, API for local entity financial tools).
• Contribute to implement pre and post processing solution within Dune solution.

Support for AXA entities

• Interaction and support for local entities during both implementation and run phase.

Skills and experience:

• 2 to 4 years of experience in Data Science, Actuarial, Finance, or Accounting.
• Good technical knowledge of Python programming and SQL.
• Knowledge of a data visualization and analytics tools.
• Knowledge of Azure (Databricks, DevOps..) is a plus.
• Knowledge of financial markets and valuation is a strong advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluency in English and intermediate level in French.
• Exceptional organizational abilities, capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines concurrently.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
