As the Senior Manager, EMEA Accounting, your prime responsibility will be to lead the France and the Netherlands accounting team, including establishing process improvements for month end close and implementation of SOX controls. Primarily responsible for managing the accounting, financial reporting, and payroll accounting for France and the Netherlands whilst supporting other EMEA entities, including involvement in establishing accounting operations for new countries launched and any ad hoc projects as directed by the Sr Director, EMEA Accounting.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Oversee the monthly accounting close for assigned locations/legal entities, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with US GAAP and local accounting standards. Responsible for approvals of JEs, preparation/review of flux analysis, and preparation/review of account reconciliations

  • Manage the US GAAP and local GAAP audit processes and annual filings

  • Work closely with the Dataiku Tax Team to support the timely filings of all tax, statutory, and associated local filings whilst coordinating with external providers

  • Oversee and assist with the creation and maintenance of accounting schedules, reconciliations, and roll-forwards so the control environment is operating efficiently

  • Mentor and coach an efficient local accounting team

  • Build excellent working relationships with the rest of the accounting organization across EMEA, AMER, and APJ

  • Support the EMEA Senior Director of Accounting with special project and workflow process improvement

  • Support the EMEA Accounting Team with any legal entity expansion initiatives

  • Support the Team with system implementations, e.g. FloQast

  • Lead Team with standardization and synchronization of processes, e.g., payroll reconciliations, B/S reconciliations, US to local GAAP bridge, etc.

  • Support the EMEA Team with Sox controls implementation across both Finance and Payroll

  • Support the EMEA Accounting Team with the synchronization and timing of tasks to enable a more efficient month-end and year-end close

Success Profile:

  • Qualified Accountant or equivalent. Relevant education and expertise in accounting and tax matters

  • 10+ years of accounting experience, including in a leadership role at a multinational company

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP (French GAAP is a plus but not required)

  • Strong knowledge of internal controls and SOX

  • Experience in dealing with tax authorities and relevant government agencies is desirable

  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Team lead/manager experience

  • Ability and willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

  • High-energy individual, proactive, cooperative and results-oriented

  • Familiarity with large ERP systems such as NetSuite

  • Comprehensive use of Excel and/or Google Sheets

  • EMEA Payroll accounting experience

  • New system implementation experience
