Your Role at Echo

You will be joining the R&D Team of over 20 Data Enthusiasts.
You will work in an environment made up of Data Warehouse (BigQuery, etc.), data streaming platforms (Pub/Sub, Dataflow...), orchestration and scheduling platforms (Airflow), modern deployment (Terraform), and management platforms (GCP).

We are creating a Software team working on several UI solutions : such as Self Service Platform, which allow our customers to extract and visualize data.

Your main challenge will be to bootstrap this new Echo Analytics Saas platform using best practices in software development and machine learning. You will be responsible for leading a team of talented engineers to architect, build, and scale this cutting-edge platform. Your focus will include implementing robust data pipelines, ensuring high performance of machine learning models, and maintaining a secure, efficient, and scalable system. You will collaborate closely with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical specifications and deliver innovative ML solutions that provide actionable insights to our clients.

Thus, this is a unique opportunity to join, build, and grow a successful start-up leading its market, from the early stages in taking significant decisions in relation to CTO, VP Product, Head of Data and Engineering Manager.

As such, your main responsibilities will be:

• Manage and lead a team of five machine learning engineers and data scientists, overseeing project assignments, daily activities, and professional development.

• Responsible for team growth, including hiring, training, and professional development.

• Develop and implement career plans and set clear performance objectives for team members.

• Lead the deployment of machine learning models into production environments, ensuring models are scalable, robust, and integrate seamlessly with existing systems.

• Oversee the full lifecycle of machine learning projects, from data gathering and model development to deployment and maintenance, with a particular focus on computer vision and time series forecasting.

• Design and implement effective data storage, transformation, and modelling strategies in a cloud environment to support advanced machine learning applications.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and align machine learning strategies with business objectives.

What we’re looking for:

• Fluency in English (French is a plus)

• Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a team of machine learning engineers and data scientists. ( 3+ years of experience as a manager )

• Strong project management skills, capable of leading multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines. (Lean management is a plus)

• 8 + years of experience with software development best practices and deploying applications in a production environment.

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with a strong foundation in software engineering practices.

• Extensive experience with at least one major machine learning framework (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and familiarity with ML production tools (MLflow, Kubeflow).

• Proficient in cloud technologies and services (Google cloud, AWS, Azure) specifically related to deploying machine learning solutions.
