This position offers the opportunity to join the Flexcity Data team in France, alongside a team of skilled colleagues from different backgrounds located all over Europe.

Job Description

As a Data Engineer, you will be the owner of data assets focused on electricity markets, where Flexcity aims to be a market leader. You will implement, deploy and maintain data pipelines and Machine Learning algorithms used in our “Smart Grid” services. You will contribute to design discussions and deliver new data assets aligned with user needs.

As a member of Flexcity's Data team, you will gain hands-on experience in developing advanced data and machine learning pipelines in the energy sector. You will work with cutting-edge and innovative technologies used by Flexcity, such as the Internet of Things, big data, and cloud-native development.

You will be part of our tech team, under the Data Lead, and your role is divided in:

• Implementation and Maintenance of Data and ML Pipelines - 60% 

  • Contribute to all stages of the data management lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment and monitoring of data and machine learning pipelines.

• Industrialization and Maintenance of Data Applications - 25% 

  • Collaborate with colleague data scientists on the industrialization, deployment and maintenance of data applications within the organization.

• Data Architecture Improvement - 15% 

  • Actively participate in initiatives to enhance the data architecture, MLOps practices and coding standards to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Hard Skills

• Fluent in English and French

• Python development: Proficient in writing Python scripts and building small Python applications (with libraries such as pandas, polars, requests, plotly, …)

• SQL: Proficient in understanding and writing complex SQL queries

• DevOps framework: Mastery of Linux and Git as DevOps tools

• Nice to Have - experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure, ...)

• Nice to Have - experience in using and maintaining CI/CD pipelines

Soft Skills

• Strong communication skills: Effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering collaboration and understanding across teams.

• Project management expertise: Organise and prioritise tasks, coordinate cross-functional efforts, and ensure timely delivery of data solutions that align with project goals.

• A positive, pragmatic and professional attitude

• Comfortable in a fast changing work environment, you can easily adapt

• Nice to Have: an interest for the energy sector
