Location: Flexible (Paris, France) - This role requires proximity to an office location with flexibility to work remotely with manager approval.

The Role

GoPro is seeking a top tier candidate for the Image Quality Tuning Engineer role. This position will help design and develop methodologies that are required to study, correlate, and improve the image quality of GoPro's camera product line. Specifically, the Image Processing Engineer’s responsibilities include tuning the ISP to optimize image quality, identifying the root cause of image artifacts, and mitigating poor image quality performance. The position also requires designing and developing scripts for aiding in collecting and investigating image quality.

What You Will Do

  • Perform image quality tuning for GoPro cameras
  • Correlate and automate software for optimized image quality tuning
  • Interface with ISP chip vendors and camera integrators
  • Interface with sensor, optics, algorithms and firmware teams

Skills We’re Excited About

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Image Processing, or related fields
  • 1-2 years of experience with image processing and filtering techniques, or in closely related field
  • Expertise in Matlab and/or Python Scripting languages as well as C, C++
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience in objective image quality measurement and testing
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience in subjective image quality evaluation
  • Ability to work well individually and within groups with strong interpersonal communication skills

Bonus Points For

  • M.S. in Computer Science, Image Processing, or related fields
  • 1-2 years of industry experience with ISPs, camera tuning, and camera calibration, or closely related field
  • 1-2 years of industry experience working with firmware environments, using version control tools such as GitHub
