About the Developer Relations Team

🤖 Gorgias as a SaaS boosts its competitive edge by allowing external developers to create and connect applications with the Gorgias Helpdesk. Thanks to a 100+ strong app store, Gorgias and its partners are adding new features on a weekly basis. Providing a fast, secure, reliable, well-maintained, and documented API is the main mission of the Developer relation team for first and third-party developers alike.

🚀 The Developer Relations team is in charge of:

  • Expand Gorgias’ authentication and authorization capacities while following industry's best standards (OAuth2, OIDC, SSO, SAML…)

  • Design, implement, and document Gorgias public and private APIs at scale

  • Identify bottlenecks and work with other internal teams in order to optimize API latency and stability

  • Build and maintain an ever-growing partner ecosystem by building the Gorgias App Store and working on technical solutions with other developers (within and outside of Gorgias)

  • Identify opportunities for third-party developers to integrate deeper with Gorgias

  • Put in place monitors, metrics, and end-to-end tests to guarantee API SLOs are up to Gorgias’ standards

About the Role

  • Gorgias started opening broadly to third-party developers a couple of years ago and needs a new Manager to help accelerate the development and capacity of its APIs

  • Your role is to ensure the team can gear towards innovation through this architectural transformation, the Developer relations (DevRel) is a central piece in our organization and has ownership of the authentication methods and APIs. It is also a central team within the organization as the API is mission-critical for the business and internal teams.

  • Your responsibility is to take the technical leader, developer, and people manager hats as the situations require.

What You'll Do

  • Design strong models and APIs in collaboration with senior ICs taking into consideration both external and internal developers’ constraints

  • Specify abstraction levels to our data models and ingestion pipelines to guarantee reusability and maintainability at scale

  • Work closely with a senior manager, a product manager, and a product designer within a CRM tribe. The goal is to align the vision of the squad within the tribe and align with your peers to set up clear and actionable goals for the team

Who You Are

  • 5+ years experience in back-end

  • 2+ years of experience as a team lead or in an engineering manager position

  • Experience with high-traffic applications and continuous development/deployment

  • Experience with distributed systems and asynchronous workloads

  • You care about working on applications that are putting the customer's needs first and you thrive in a fast-paced and distributed environment

Nice to have

  • Big plus if you have managed through architectural transformations, especially from Monolithic ones to (micro) service architectures

  • Big plus if you have experience implementing authorization protocols (OAuth2), user federations, RBAC, Identity providers…

  • Desirable experience with Python, Postgres, Keycloack, Kafka
