Gorgias is a company that aims to invest in people and is always looking for ways to better enable our teams. The best way for us to really unlock the potential of our teams and team members, is to provide opportunities and resources. We attempt to ask our employees where they wish to grow and how Gorgias can help them in their future plans. We iterate based on internal feedback and will also use data to drive our salaries to know that we are always fairly compensating everyone.
In August 2020, Amy started her job at Gorgias as a Customer Success Manager. Fast forward to today: Amy has held four positions in the company, pioneered two brand-new Gorgias programs, and holds a new position as the Manager of Customer Education.

" In this role, I managed merchant relationships using a one-to-many approach and maintained a local book of business. After a few months, I was promoted to senior CSM — a natural progression for anyone at Gorgias who performs well. While continuing the above duties, I took on additional education duties running webinars and creating educational content.
After realizing the value of education, I upskilled in eLearning, content creation, and instructional design. The culminating project was setting up the Gorgias Academy.
While I built the academy, I needed to prove its impact (one of Gorgias’ values is to maximize your impact, so everyone is accountable for delivering measurable results). I focused on before/after data comparisons to show the substantial impact the academy was having.
After proving the function was valuable, I moved into the Customer Education Specialist role as a one-woman show. "
Amy joined Gorgias just like any other role, but what keeps them here and what keeps them thriving is the environment that Gorgias has built for its employees.
Feedback is what we strive to use as our guiding north star when developing our training and programs. Our amazing People Operations team work to gather feedback internally and use this data to best understand what the biggest needs of the company are. Gorgias conducts continually peer and manager feedback from every employee. In addition, we conduct company-focused feedback regarding our leadership. From top to bottom, Gorgias uses the data and input of our team members to improve our training and employee growth.
Gorgias will also provide a learning stipend for all of our employees. This gives freedom to our employees to learn any skills or gain any coaching in areas of interest. Gorgias believes that no matter which walk of life you are in, you can always learn more.
Every year, Gorgias hosts 2 major team-building retreats. The first retreat would be an intimate team retreat, where your department will meet to foster in-person relationships. We work from all over the world, so we try to dedicate a time where you can truly get to know more of your team and strengthen the bonds of our growing teams.
The second retreat would be a company-wide retreat, where Gorgias invites all of our employees. Keeping the same intentions as the team retreats, the company-wide retreat is geared for us to unwind and enjoy each other's company as we prepare ourselves for upcoming quarters.
Gorgias also participates in several outside events involving guest panels with our team members and various collaborative panel discussions, such as those hosted by DTCX.
