About the Team

At Gorgias, our People Operations team is dedicated to delivering an exceptional employee experience through seamless processes and global compliance. As the Manager of People Operations, you will lead a team of four professionals and oversee key operational areas, including HR systems, compliance, payroll, and immigration.

Reporting to the VP of People, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the People, Finance & Accounting, and Legal teams to ensure efficient and compliant people operations across multiple countries such as the US, Canada, France or Serbia.

We are seeking a proactive leader who thrives in a dynamic environment, is solution-oriented, and continuously drives process improvements. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape and optimize our global people operations strategy as we continue to scale rapidly.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Team Leadership:

    • Manage and develop a team of four, including two People Operations Specialists and two Payroll Specialists (one Payroll Specialist to be hired).

    • Provide mentorship and guidance, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment.

  • People Operations Management:

    • Oversee and enhance core people operations processes, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and scalability.

    • Partner with key stakeholders to align operations with business needs and strategic objectives.

    • Implement new tools and automation to streamline workflows and improve employee experience. Specifically, manage our People ticketing platform and make sure we deliver great support to all our employees.

  • Compliance and Immigration:

    • Manage global compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies.

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for immigration matters, collaborating with legal firms to support work visa applications and immigration processes in various countries.

    • Stay up-to-date with changing regulations and provide strategic recommendations for compliance initiatives.

  • Payroll Oversight:

    • Supervise payroll operations across multiple countries in collaboration with external vendors. (Rippling and Deel)

    • Ensure accurate processing of payroll, including compliance with local regulations, audits, and reconciliations.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration:

    • Work closely with the Finance & Accounting team to ensure smooth payroll processing and financial reporting.

    • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to support employee onboarding.

    • Partner with HR Business Partners to support employee offboarding.

  • Process Optimization:

    • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements across all people operations functions.

    • Lead initiatives to standardize processes across multiple regions while considering local nuances.

Who You Are

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a People Operations leadership role within a global organization.

  • Experience managing immigration processes and working with legal firms on visa applications and compliance matters.

  • Great management skills and ability to build motivation and grow the team

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage complex operations with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and cultures.

  • Familiarity with global employment regulations and best practices.

Nice to Have

  • Successful track record at a very fast growing company where there is lots of ambiguity and maybe a little chaos. Experience in a SaaS or tech startup environment.
