Join our dynamic On-Premise Infrastructure team, specifically our Connectivity stream. You’ll be part of a dedicated group of fourteen people - four System Engineers and ten Operations Engineers - managing a diverse range of Connectivity technologies. From switches and routers to firewalls and data center networking, our team ensures stable and secure data transfer and site-to-site communication with robust and redundant solutions.

What will you do

As a key player in our Digital Hub Brno, you’ll provide IT support for Heidelberg Materials’ global infrastructure engineering and operations. Your role as a System Engineer will involve leveraging your cross-technology expertise to analyze business requirements and assess their technical feasibility. You’ll focus on designing, creating, and ensuring the functionality of On-Premise Infrastructure products, working closely with the Product team to provide a holistic approach to our connectivity product portfolio.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Innovate and implement IT technologies and solutions following our engineering process and Demand-to-Retire Framework, primarily in Connectivity technologies
• Ensure our technologies and solutions are reliable, scalable, automated, secure, and cost-efficient
• Develop comprehensive design documentation, including high-level and low-level designs
• Collaborate with Operational and Deployment teams to ensure solutions are operable and deployable
• Maintain our solutions' technological health and efficiency through rigorous quality control

You are an ideal candidate if you have:

• Expertise in Global Routing (WAN)
• A deep understanding of cross-regional connectivity and dependencies
• Proficiency in routing and switching, especially BGP
• Strong knowledge of Cloud Networking
• Data Center infrastructure and networking skills
