Your mission

Global Underwriting Director at Indeez is a significant leadership role driving business development with insurance carriers and digital platforms. The Risk and Broking Director will have a natural flair for decoding complex client needs and turning them into delightful insurance products. The role will work alongside various Indeez stakeholders (Sales, Product, Finance, Operations etc), to prioritize and build these products, bringing expertise in assessing risk exposure and a network of relationships with appropriate capacity providers.

More specifically, you will:

• Manage the development and evolution of the overall insurance strategy for Indeez, and as a consequence impact on Indeez business and operating model.

• Develop different product offerings from an underwriting perspective - support the development of innovative pricing models, distributions structures and product offerings that create differentiation in the market.

• Assess and analyse client’s specific business risks and insurance needs - Identify suitable insurance products and providers tailored to each client’s requirements. Drive the negotiation on Underwriting and T&Cs with external stakeholders (insurers, MGU, brokers, re-insurers as needed).

• Respond to all Client offers in a timely manner, calculating ratings and negotiating conditions of the contracts.

• Write, review various insurance related contract wordings with the support from the legal.

• Keep up to date with business and competitive trends: Identify best in class practices and products that can lead to development of new business and/or areas of profitable growth.

What you will bring

Experience and qualifications:

• 10+ years of underwriting and/or broking experience (mainly liability and motor) within the insurance industry (insurers, re-insurers, MGU, brokers, consulting, fintech and insurtech).

• Pricing notions on P&C insurance - also super proficient with Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Entrepreneurial and hunter mindset with a bias for action and results towards achieving goals and developing strong insurer/broker relationships.

• Demonstrate an analytical mind and experience that focuses on revenue and margins, applying underwriting judgment to complement data trends.

• Good judgment on building profitable scale and ability to lead and manage negotiations with external partners.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to communicate in an effective manner.
