Job description

MaiaSpace is a European space tech company, designing, manufacturing and operating competitive and sustainable solutions for space mobility. Transient Engineer (lift-off & recovery & Spacecraft separation)

Inside MaiaSpace development teams you will join the team that elaborates and optimize trajectory for our launch vehicle in 3dof and 6dof, define the GNC algorithms, elaborate the environment loads along the trajectory for the other development teams, lead the fairing and interstage products design, test and AIT.

Within this pluridisciplinary team you will lead transient phases solutions design and simulation. Concerned products trade-offs and active participation in this systems designs will also be one of your main activities.

In this perimeter your responsibilities will include:

  • Transient phases studies for lift-off, deployments, and landing of the first stage
    • Prototype, develop and test in house models or simulator.
    • Specific model definition, simulation on commercial softwares
    • Trade-offs studies and active participation to parts and mecanisms technical solution definition.
    • Specification synthesis for concerned products.
  • Define the objectives of validation and qualification of the models with the other development teams and in interaction with system architects.
  • Coordinating with our tests engineers, conduct simulation campaigns and their exploitation for testing, development, qualification and operation of the launcher in transitory phase and flight simulation.
  • Participate in the development of hardware demonstration test campaigns to validate the selected concepts in collaboration with the production teams.
  • Overseeing of subcontracted work in your responsibility field
    • Scope of work definition
    • Contract management and follow-up
    • Delivery acceptance
  • Contribution to the overall launch system definition
    • Contribute to the engineering effort of your team and cross-functionally between teams, even if it involves work outside your main field of action, in order to contribute to the vehicle system synthesis.

  • Proficiency in transient simulation softwares suites (ADAMS, COMSOL, etc.) and programming languages Python, Java, Xml, ...).

🎓 Qualification :

  • Generalist engineer, specialization in aerospace preferred.
  • Level : 3-5 years experience in the aerospace field transients phases or in mechanical design.
