About the team

We are a team of 15 at Roundtable today and counting!

We’re founded by an experienced and highly complementary team**:**

  • Evan, CEO, ex BCG Principal with a focus on financial institutions (7y of work exp.)

  • Julien, CPO , ex BCG Lead Data Scientist (6y of work exp.)

  • Simon, CTO, serial CTO & founder (sold Hubware to Onepilot) (10y of work exp.)

As German Lead you will directly work with Evan, Co-founder & CEO, and will have a close collaboration with both Julien, Co-founder & CPO for all implications on product and operations, as well as Felix, part-time business development in Germany.

About the role

We are looking for a German Business Development Lead to support the penetration of the German market.

Your responsibilities as German Business Development Lead :

  • Play an instrumental role in the overall Go-to-Market strategy for Germany

  • Build on the learnings of the successful commercialisation in France and Benelux

  • Identify and build the relevant partnerships to conquer the ecosystem on prioritized asset classes (with lawyers, incubators, and communities of angel investors)

  • Identify and attend key events to connect with our ecosystem (e.g. Bits & Pretzels, TOA, SuperVenture)

  • Initiate new formats in a creative and resourceful manner

  • Lead and close sales discussions – a broad range guarantees a steep learning curve, incl. deals from €100k founder SPVs, over to €10M+ pre-IPO secondaries or €50M solo GP funds

  • Contribute to increase Roundtable visibility and branding in Germany

  • Have a continuous view on the competitive landscape

  • Structure a team to support the growth in the German market in the near future

  • Set up and follow effective tracking of initiatives

  • Provide crucial input to the founders on strategic discussions

Your role will be at the center of Roundtable’s strategy.

Challenges

The main challenges you will be confronted with are:

  • High-calibre stakeholders - you will interact with top European Business Angels, partners of VC firms, lawyers, decision-makers at family offices & more.

  • Challenging target audience - you will need to develop very high-quality content.

  • Complex regulatory framework in Europe.

  • Multi-geography approach


Preferred experience

About you

  • Experience: You have 5+ years of experience in business development positions in the German ecosystem and are at ease with the regulatory environment

  • Language: You speak and write German and English perfectly

  • Interest: You are connected in the angel investing ecosystem and are driven by the private investment and the venture capital /private equity world.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset: you thrive in fast-paced environments where you have broad responsibilities

  • Ownership mentality: you are a doer and have a bias for action, no task is below you

  • Organization skills: you know how to prioritize and split your tasks efficiently.

  • Team player: you enjoy sharing and learning from each other

  • Initiative and innovation: you have a strong drive for self-development, also you don’t hesitate to challenge best practices

  • Customer focus: you are relentless in pursuing deals, enjoy solving problems for our customers and excited by the impact we create

  • Strong attention to detail: you excel at managing high-stakes processes with multiple stakeholders involved
