Our Team:

In view of the intended separation of the Consumer HealthCare (CHC) business of Sanofi, Communications is fast-growing and working as a high-performing, global, stakeholder-focused, networked team. The Team operates as a Community of Practice, with Country Communications Leads that report into the local business, but functionally are strongly aligned with the Communications Function to ensure consistency and One Voice. As a whole, the Communications Function aligns the interests of various stakeholders, and executes activity that builds and protects Company and CHC’s brand, reputation and employee engagement across its businesses, markets, and countries.

CHC France is a major geographic entity and a critical part of our footprint and strategy

  • The home country of our CHC business and of some of its most loved brands (such as Doliprane, Lysopaine, Phytoxil, Novanuit etc.). Doliprane in particular celebrating its 60th birthday in 2024 and the 2nd year in a row elected most loved brands by French consumers across all categories
  • The 2nd largest commercial affiliate worldwide
  • With 2 manufacturing plants, 1 global R&D center and the global Headquarters of our new company

Main purpose of the role

The strategic development and tactical delivery of internal and external communications activities related to Sanofi Consumer Healthcare in France. Internally, for all France-based employees, and externally on all matters related to our future company and to the French CHC business & brand towards French general public and key stakeholders.

Main responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver long-term integrated communications strategy and narrative in support of the CHC France targets and objectives as well as the global company brand, reputation and employee engagement.
  • Accountable for all internal and external communications in France.
  • Work as trusted advisor and integral member of the CHC France Leadership Team and partner to the Global Communications Lead to support the local business’ growth strategy. Provide strategic counsel on corporate and brand reputational risk and other implications of business policies, practices and actions, as well as strategic internal communications. Coaching the business to build capabilities in brand, leadership and corporate public relations
  • Internal communications (towards all France based employee: industrial plants, commercial operations, headquarters):
    • Plan & execute internal communications efforts in France, further boosting employee engagement in line with CHC's culture, strategy and purpose
    • Support the France CHC leadership team in navigating organisational or structural change by developing appropriate communications plans and supporting content.
    • Work with global Consumer Healthcare Communications colleagues to ensure France is well represented in global channels.
    • Develop the yearly internal communications plan and rhythm for all France based employees (industrial plants, commercial operations, headquarters).
  • External communications:
    • Develop and deliver a compelling narrative and holistic communications strategy and plan for CHC France. Build local reputation as a FMCH company in line with CHC's strategy, brand and purpose
    • Position the Consumer Healthcare business as a socially conscious France-based leader of industry taking into consideration necessary alignment with global and local corporate messages and priorities.
    • Collaborate with Public Affairs Head regarding external communication needs & support
    • Trigger & receive support from global Media Relations team
  • Lead and develop the local communications team in shaping and pro-active delivery of integrated internal and external communications.
  • Ensure alignment of the CHC Global communications strategy and narrative with France communications strategy and objectives. Act therefore as focal point of liaison between Global Communications Team and CHC France. Connect with all relevant parts of the French business (e.g., President, local consumer brand teams/marketing, manufacturing & supply chain).
  • Focal point for reactive and crisis/emergency communications related to CHC France. In collaboration with France Public Affairs lead, shape France-specific proactive issue management approach, deliver content and ensure local feedback loops.
  • Translate insights (from monitoring/measurement data) into advice; e.g. relevant developments amongst stakeholders in France.
  • Manage France CHC communications budget and control demand. Manage agency networks.
  • Ensure adherence to communications and branding guidelines and policies in French market.
  • Focal point and provider of France-specific content such as input into annual reports, fact books and company/IR presentations.
  • Seek opportunities to share insights, contacts and ideas that will contribute to the activities of others within CHC’s communications network.

About you

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in communications and with proven ability to develop and execute successful communication strategies.
  • Experienced in managing complex, multi-dimensional projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in corporate internal communications including leadership advisory on organisational change management.
  • Strong leadership, team building & project management skills, with exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Experienced in building bridges between in- and external audiences and bringing disciplines together in pursuit of an integrated goal. Self-starter/pro-active.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in French and a high level of proficiency in English. Excellent in translating individual facts in a compelling narrative that resonates with external stakeholders.
  • Crisis communication and issues management experience.
  • Deep understanding of the French societal and business landscape.
  • Proficient in the use of digital channels (e.g., social media). Experienced in translating listening and monitoring into advice.
  • Good understanding of / experience in a FMCG environment.
