Job description

At Schneider Electric, we are committed to solving real-world problems to create a sustainable, digitized, and new electric future.Your role:Attached to the Procurement Manager (Kevin) and part of a team of 14 Plant Procurement Managers, Category Buyers, and Procurement Managers, you oversee the purchase of parts within a category for the region's factories and are based at the Mâcon site (France). You will be responsible for purchasing performance by managing a set of suppliers while supporting the execution of factory purchases.Your main missions:

  • Manage supplier relations globally for your category (e.g., copper, aluminum, protection relays, circuit breakers, etc.).
  • Develop the annual plan to improve supplier commercial performance (productivity, supply chain performance, and quality).
  • Organize and lead supplier management meetings (performance reviews, negotiations, innovation meetings).
  • Conduct negotiations with suppliers in the regions, including the request for quotation process and e-auctions.
  • Contribute to supplier qualification by participating in their evaluation.
  • Identify potential supplier-related risks and develop and implement the associated corrective action plan.
  • Manage specific initiatives with suppliers (green plastic, carbon neutrality, ISO26000, DPO).
  • Oversee the contractual relationship with suppliers (market allocation letters, logistics/quality agreements).
  • Administer supplier accounts, manage billing disputes, price updates, and report productivity data.
Your profile:
  • Master's degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement.
Your skills:
  • Experience in the plastics raw materials market is an asset.
  • Strong supplier management and communication skills.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Analytical skills and experience in market trend analysis.
  • Ability to persuade and navigate in a complex environment.
  • Agility and creativity in solving complex problems.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Frequent business travel (every 2 weeks within a 300 km radius and 1 to 2 times per month in Europe).
