This position is opened within the Architecture team within Intelligent Edge organization of Schneider Digital, which supports innovation and platforming program for Schneider Electric Business Units and Lines of Business on their Industrial IoT offers."EdgeOS MCU" is the Intelligent Edge platform for microcontroller-based products. It provides a full ecosystem with a bootloader, a real-time operating system and middleware services as well as ready to deploy development environment and CI/CD. Similarly, "EdgeOS MPU" is the Intelligent Edge platform for micro-processor-based products. It provides a full ecosystem with a bootloader, a Yocto-built custom Linux embedded distribution, with middleware services as well as ready to deploy development environment and CI/CD. A product built on top of either "EdgeOS MCU" or "EdgeOS MPU" benefits from a configurable, cybersecure-by-default technical platform, that is ready-to-connect to our "Edge System Management" which offers fleet and application management."Core Services & Wireless" correspond to the middleware layer of the EdgeOS technology platforms. It aims at providing various services and features such as
- secure firmware update
- log management
- product configuration (identity, network connectivity, date/time…)
- service/message bus (for intra and inter product communication)
- device management, application management and connectivity to the "Edge System Management" (cloud or on-prem)
- connectivity protocols (MQTT, Zigbee, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, OPC-UA, …)
Your main responsibilities :- provide architecture guidelines, identify technical solutions and write technical requirements, answering to the functional requirement of the EdgeOS MCU and EdgeOS MPU platforms.
- work closely with platform architects of "EdgeOS MCU" and "EdgeOS MPU" as well as execution environment transverse architect.
- interact with subject matter experts of the Intelligent Edge anticipation team to benefit from the explorations performed in the context of the "Software Defined" program.
- As subject matter expert for the middleware of both "EdgeOS MCU" and "EdgeOS MPU", he will be working with various "client programs" within Energy Management and Industrial Automation business units to define together the middleware architecture and select accordingly the appropriate technologies to integrate within our EdgeOS technical platforms.
- work also with POs and Architects of "Edge System Management, "EdgeOS MPU" and "EdgeOS MCU" platforms to ensure the proper landing of the middleware features and services.
Your profile :- Graduate or Post-graduate degree in computer science and system engineering.
- 10+ years of work experience within complex industrial systems with real-time and/or safety constraints
- Excellent knowledge in the field of embedded software development (RTOS, Linux)
- Strong knowledge of system engineering best practices and related methodologies & tools
- Strong knowledge of components used in digital platforms (microprocessors and microcontrollers, memories, etc.) as well as the architectures and internal functioning of processors
- Strong C/C++ development skills
- Strong networking and communication experience
- Experience on cyber security, in particular in the industrial domain (e.g. IEC 62443) would be appreciated
- Experienced in creating and assessing reference architectures.
- Knowledge of industrial application level standards, such as IEC 61850 and OPC UA
- Enjoy learning and introducing new technologies to help colleagues and partners embrace and adopt them
- Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to analyze problems and develop actionable and appropriate tactical plans
- Excellent technical writing skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow through on projects
- Ability to build consensus and followership with key stakeholders, and drive change
- English language proficiency required
