ContextAttached to Industrial automation business unit of Schneider electric, Schneider Toshiba Inverter Europe (STIE) is specialized in the development of variable speed drives and soft starters and is a major contributor to energy savings in industries. Our R&D expertise center is at the center of new technologies and provides solutions to industries using the latest technologies in hardware and software disciplines. We develop variables speed drives and soft starters using the latest technologies in terms of connectivity and cybersecurity, with a pioneer and team to help energy savings for a green future.Subject: In this context, we propose an internship, which aims to improve a "firmware update" functionality that is included in our products. Our products are connected, and the firmware can be updated "on the field" (at customer plant). The solution shall be robust and efficient. This functionality needs to be updated and reworked to be as much as possible independent of the hardware. During the internship, you will:

  • Acquire knowledge of existing solution
  • Write design specification with the help of firmware architect.
  • Develop the functionality.
  • Make unitary tests.
  • Update verification tests scripts.
  • Write documentation of the source code.
As a member of embedded firmware team, the intern will have the opportunity to improve its knowledge in programming (C, Python and maybe other languages if required). He will discover many aspects linked to the development of embedded firmware like configuration management, Agile framework (kanban) and write technical documentation.Contract: 4-6 month internship starting from 1st semester 2025Location: STIE, 33 Rue André Blanchet, 27120 Pacy-Sur-EureProfile Diploma: Bac+4 / Bac+5 / master / EngineerSpecialization: Embedded SoftwareRequirements:
  • Knowledge in C, Python
  • Fluent English imperative, French is a plus (multi-cultural environment)
  • Configuration management using Github
