Schneider Electric has an opportunity for a MV Power Electronics Test Engineer position in our Grenoble, France location.You will join Schneider Electric, and its Power Systems and Services division, which supports key missions relating to design and development and current/future technological needs of Medium Voltage products.You will join a team of 20+ engineers and help design and develop a new generation of modular multi-level medium voltage power electronics conversion platform.Your role:You are responsible for the hardware testing process and to meet the required functional performance, quality, and reliability requirements while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams of electrical, mechanical, and embedded software engineers.Your missions:

  • Develop test plans and procedures for modular multi-level medium voltage power electronics systems.
  • Create testing infrastructure and lead its implementation.
  • Have knowledge of electronic instrumentation platforms, such as PCI eXtensions for Instrumentation (PXI).
  • Read and understand test requirements from relevant standards and stakeholders.
  • Conduct various tests, including performance, reliability, environmental, and safety testing.
  • Analyse test results and provide clear, detailed reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure test plans align with product requirements.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues in power electronic systems, proposing design improvements based on test results.
  • Stay updated on industry standards and best practices for power electronics testing.

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering with a focus on power electronics.
  • Proven experience (3 years) in testing medium voltage power electronics systems.
  • Experience in understanding test requirements based on standards.

  • Strong understanding of power electronics systems
  • Proficiency in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power analysers, and data acquisition systems
  • Knowledge of relevant standards for power electronics testing
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly
  • Creativity: you are able to offer alternative solutions to a problem
