The Drives Domain integrates various technologies and associated challenges that align with the Schneider Electric Strategy, such as:

  • Power Conversion and Motor Control enabling Energy Efficiency
  • Application Control or Functional Safety enabling Solutions for customers
  • Ethernet, Web Servers, and DTM enabling Digitization and Services
  • AI for predictive and preventive maintenance
Your role: Reporting to the Hardware manager of the Drives activity of Industrial Control and Drives (Mohamet Thiam) and within the R&D perimeter in the Hardware team of 15 people, you will be responsible for electronic design during the innovation, development, and evolution phases of our products.Your missions:
  • Actively contribute to our technical Roadmaps, considering the standardization of our design rules and strategy,
  • Advise and share knowledge internally, help in making decisions on technical projects,
  • Define the architecture in the microcontroller environment while ensuring interfacing with analog electrical signal measurements and communication systems,
  • Evaluate the architecture scenarios in terms of cost, compliance with requirements, and risk,
  • Develop simulation models, write technical specifications for the selected architecture,
  • Write and maintain electronic specifications and design rules for our products,
  • Master technical specifics, ensure knowledge and know-how capitalization, and keep up with technological advancements,
  • Select and size active and passive components and justify the design,
  • Conduct design tests on models/prototypes, debug for compliance,
  • Perform verification tests and debug boards,
  • Be responsible for investigating and resolving potential design issues,
  • Support the validation team during the test execution,
  • Participate in our digital transformation by working closely with engineers working on multiphysics simulation,
  • Participate in the maintenance and evolution of our products.
Your profile:
  • A PHD or a Bac+5 degree such as an engineering or master's degree in electronics
  • At least 5 years of experience as an Electronics Designer.
Your competences:
  • Experience in digital electronic design, including the design of programmable components such as FPGA and CPLD,
  • Solid experience in analog design, modeling, and simulation of electronic systems,
  • Knowledge of industrial communication bus technologies such as Ethernet, I2C, SPI, UART, USB, among others, and wireless communication,
  • Ability to choose and evaluate µC and signal measurement chain architectures,
  • In-depth knowledge of components associated with this technology,
  • Ability to work on power electronics topics,
  • Understanding of EMC phenomena and mitigation solutions,
  • Knowledge in electrotechnics and rotating machines,
  • Knowledge of international standards (UL, CE, IEC, etc.),
  • Strong mastery of laboratory instrumentation,
  • Analytical skills and good methodology during investigation phases,
  • Knowledge of 1D simulation tools (Matlab/Simulink, PLECS, Spice) is a plus,
  • Good organization and ability to manage multiple tasks in parallel,
  • Analytical mind, flexibility, and ability to act independently and under your own responsibility,
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams, with multiple nationalities,
  • Proficiency in English, French is a plus.
