SiPearl is building the European high-performance low-power microprocessor dedicated to supercomputing and AI inference. This new generation of microprocessors will first target EuroHPC Joint Undertaking ecosystem, which is deploying world-class supercomputing infrastructures in Europe for solving major challenges in medical research, security, energy management and climate with a reduced environmental footprint.
SiPearl is working in close collaboration with its 30 partners from the European Processor Initiative (EPI) consortium - leading names from the scientific community, supercomputing centres and industry - which are its stakeholders, future clients and end-users.
SiPearl employs more than 190 people in France (Maisons-Laffitte, Grenoble, Massy, Sophia Antipolis), Germany (Duisburg) and Spain (Barcelona).
💻 About the role
As part of collaborative research team, the Innovation and Pre-Award Project Manager has the mission to develop the portfolio of research projects.
You will be in charge of transforming the technical roadmap of the company into proposals by applying for national and European Funding programs and create the conditions for bringing new research projects by identifying programs and key partners and by federating internal R&D teams.
🎯 What a regular day at the job might look like
- Understand the value chain and ecosystem in different domains relevant to the research strategy of SiPearl
- Build a complete and sound knowledge on the programs and calls available at EU and national levels relevant to the global research strategy of SiPearl
- Identify and participate to relevant EU and national innovation and research events
- Along with the head of collaborative research programs, define calls of interests and priorities between the different calls of interest
- For all the calls of interest, understand and ensure compliance with the rules in force, the timeline, the participant portal and all the specificities of the calls
- Maintain an annual plan of relevant calls available at EU and National levels
- Attend networking events on the different programs for “match making”
- Identify and reach out to contacts to build valuable consortium of partners
- Coordinate interactions within SiPearl to prepare proposal and define the scope, timeline, effort, budget, skills needed internally and the approach to cooperate with the partners
- Prepare proposals with the support of SiPearl’s stakeholders and in collaboration with involved partners under the responsibility of the project coordinator
- Analyze the feedback received on any submitted proposal
- Manage DoA and more generally the submission-to-signature workflow on the participant portal
- Prepare the Grant Agreement and Consortium Agreement with SiPearl legal department
- Prepare smooth transition to Post-Award project team
- Maintain the budget projections for the business plan and update the resource activity forecast
- Document the processes and methodology for managing the proposals from the preparation to award decision
- Create and enrich a knowledge database to improve efficiency in preparing proposals
- Provide regular reports and updates on calls funnel to SiPearl management
🔍 What would make you succeed in this role
- Master degree in science and ideally in computer science (or relevant field)
- 5+ years of project management in international or multi-cultural context, including experience in facing public institutions, clients and diverse stakeholders from science, industrial, technical, political, academia domains
- You have a proven experience of working within a compliance framework with a strict respect of deadlines
- You can prioritize and multitask between projects
- You are proactive in building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders and foster cross functional collaboration
- You can delegate while controlling quality
- You can embrace new challenges and act within ability for strategical thinking
- You have appetite for innovation and understanding new technologies
- You have excellent communication skills and are proficient in English, both written and spoken
- Proficiency in Spanish or German would be highly appreciated
