Responsibilities

Global Trade & Payment Services group includes 3 business lines: Trade Services (TRA), Payments & Cash Management (PCM), and Correspondent Banking (BAN). Each business line has a Front-, Middle-, and Back-Office team.

GTPS Middle Office main mission is to support the Sales Team and to secure business processes while ensuring service quality and continuous improvement.

SG Group's Trade Finance & Services Business Line is settling in the US market and is looking for a Middle Office VIE to support the origination of trade business transactions, the development of trade solutions to corporate clients, as well as the monitoring of the proper execution of all trade transactions within the local desk.

The candidate will report into the Head of Client Service and Sales Support in SG New York.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
• Support of Front-Office in origination and execution of trade transactions
• Follow-up on client requests and needs in coordination with the Front-Office
• Close co-operation with Back-Office teams and support functions (Compliance, Legal, Risks...) in connection with all operational issues
• Responsibility of flow business and administrative tasks in connection with trade transactions: market research, profitability calculations, risk and compliance controls, internal reporting, bank/country limits authorization requests to Head-Office in Paris, etc.
• Identification of value added to clients by proactively fostering synergies within the bank's business lines while at the same time reducing the risk to the bank by using a structured approach

Governance & Controls:
• Respond to all internal audit inquiries regarding KYC and customer files
• Work closely with appropriate department for any regulatory queries
• Perform relevant periodic PSP control for permanent supervision

Account Management & Monitoring:
• Prepare memo as needed to process any client related update in our systems and perform final verification of change accuracy in the system
• Employees should understand the institution's approach to risk management and their respective roles in supporting a strong risk culture, as outlined in the SGUS Operations Enterprise Risk Management Framework

PROJECTS & ADHOC ANALYSIS
• Coordinate projects to improve and broaden the offer of the TRA desk in the US (new solutions)
• Adhoc analysis & research to help assess market and regulatory trends, and measure their impact on potential business.

Profile required

Studies & experience:

  • Graduate with a Master's degree from a Business/Engineering School or University

Language skills:
  • Fluent in English

Operational, technical & soft skills:
  • Basic knowledge of Trade Finance products, business, onboarding and credit processes
  • Proficient/Good command of MS Office
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Good presentation and interpersonal skills

The VIE assignment in a nutshell

This VIE in New York is to begin as soon as possible, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 18 months.

In case a visa is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure.
