The position

Job description

Responsibilities

DFIN or Finance department has a broad mandate to support Business Units, Service Units and General Management in terms of financial and strategic steering. DFIN strives to provide comprehensive and insightful performance indicators and financial information.

DFIN/COM/LOC under the finance department delivers the financial and regulatory reports in compliance with applicable standards and obligations. Legal entity control is on of the key pillar within this department and performs the below functions:
- Maintain the books and records for the various SGUS Entities
- Work closely with Finance and Operations teams in the monthly closing process
- Oversee the monthly accrual process
- Submit the Financial Statement Packages to SG Paris, analyze and explain the variations in it
- Handle various US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) audits
- Oversee the financial production process performed in offshore locations
- Oversight of the General Ledger (GL) processes performed by Offshore locations, Certification of account balances
- Monthly, quarterly/yearly performance of Control

Tasks and responsibilities:
• Perform Monthly, Quarterly and yearly closing of the books on the entities concerned which includes booking of Manual entries into general Ledger
• Complete end to end process for corporate expense accruals and monitoring
• Perform control review on intercompany reconciliations, French to IFRS GAAP reconciliation
• Comply with regulatory reporting requirements for the entities in scope as well as FRY-7N and FRY15 reports sent to the Federal Reserve)
• Certification of key controls used to prepare and file financial statements, Provide support and information for other DFIN downstream reporting needs
• Support Audit Missions by providing the required analysis and accounting/financial data
• Provide support and information for other DFIN downstream reporting needs
• Provide support to New Product Committee discussions and ensure smooth transition from project to production in terms of the accounting life cycle
• Work with ITEC support team for process improvements, and constantly work towards improving past processes. Having an open and innovative mindset is important

Profile required

PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:

  • Graduate with a Master's degree from a Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Accounting
  • A previous experience in Accounting/Audit would be appreciated

Language skills:
  • Fluent in English

Technical, operational & soft skills:
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient/Good command of MS Office
  • Working in Power BI, Alteryx, Power Query will be a plus, but not mandatory


The VIE assignment in a nutshell

This VIE in Montreal is to begin in April 2025, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 24months.

In case a visa is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure.
